I picked up a Clarion CZ401 receiver from Crutchfield. It was on sale for $110 and I found a $20 coupon so it was only $90 including free shipping plus wiring and mounting hardware. Features include HD radio, iPod controls, remote, front USB and external input, 4V/6 channel RCA outs with HPF/LPF and equalizer, MP3/WMA playback, and it's Sirius ready. I've installed a number of systems before so it went pretty smooth. And hey, the factory sub still works, which is nice. I always thought the Alpine system was pretty decent for a factory system but even this cheap Clarion unit easily outclasses it through the stock speakers. Now I want to upgrade the speakers too. Wonder what I can get for the stock system on eBay...

Anyways, check it out...

Looks similar. I have JVC reciever mounted using the same crutchfield adapter kit. I found some decent pioneer 3way speakers on closeout that I installed.

The pocket is worthless though..:( I used to put my remote in there but it flys out everytime I hit the gas.

Nice job! Looks clean. What year is your Expy?

Thanks, it's a '99 Navigator.

Agreed. I don't know why they bother with the pocket. It's pretty tight for all the wires back there. Could have used the extra space.
