SO I attempted to install my new Pioneer AVH-P8400BH. I purchased a Metra wiring kit. I attached all the wires to the correct colors started the car tried to turn on the head unit and nothing. Tore it all apart again and realized that there are two harnesses. I thought the smaller harness was running my Sync wiring and steering wheel controls... uh wrong. I found that my Accessory power wire is in the smaller harness and my constant power wire is in the larger harness. So I changed the connection for the accessory power wire and still nothing. I am now wondering if the Ford factory ground is enough for the new unit???? Everything else seems to be ok. If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. I did check for proper amperage and both wires have it.

Start simple fuse on the deck or factory wiring fuse blown?

Thanks for the advise.... I was actually sold the wrong harness from Best Buy. The second harness that I found was the data harness. The 12v acc wire is tied into that but not a direct line. I did not understand it so had them install it and they had to run a seperate 12v Acc wire to power on the unit. It works great now.
