Hey guys. Im new to the post but looking for some help. I recently changed the front brake pads on my '08 Expedition. First, I had to get creative getting the rusted on rotors off but figured out a trick using bolts through the caliper holes. Next, I had a difficult time trying to get the outside pads back into the calipers because they have the tension clips on them. Im not sure that I did this correctly but I got them back on and the brakes went back together. The brakes appear to be working just fine but now I have a loud squeaking noise coming from both wheels. Any ideas? Thanks very much.

Did you put any caliper grease on the backs of the pads, and other points where the pads contact the caliper?

I just did redid my rotors Monday. New rotors, pads, shims...I greased everything pretty much and my brakes don't squeal or anything. Like Jason said, did you apply any brake grease? I'd recommend on the back of the pads, the metal shims that are located on the caliper bracket, the caliper slide pins (the 9mm hex bolt). Also did you clean out all the old brake dust with brake cleaner? My pads are pre scortched and bedded, so I didn't have to bed them in. Might want to also check the correct way to bed your brake pads in if need be.

I also need to replace the rear brake pads on my 2007 Expedition. Do I need a 9mm allen wrench or 9mm socket?
Thanks; Ken.
