Hello from a new Expedition owner

Hello everyone. Over the weekend I upgraded from an 03 Explorer XLT to a 07 Expedition XLT. Its been snowing since I picked it up, only picture I got is from the dealer.

I just joined the site so I have not had a chance to search through all of the posts.

I would like to put an exhaust system on it to give it a little more of rumble. Does anyone have any experience with Gibson exhausts?

welcome to the site...flowmaster mainly on here but you will find a couple here and there with something else...i think theres only one guy with gibson...

You found me. I have the Gibson exhaust. Had it on a 2000 model and put it on my 2011 right away. I got the all 304 SS cat back system. Easy Install. Not as much character as my 2000 system with dual outlets but better than stock. No Room under the unit for a dual outlet so they only offer single system. Still glad I did it. Fit was good except for one hanger which did not line up. Good Luck.

You found me. I have the Gibson exhaust. Had it on a 2000 model and put it on my 2011 right away. I got the all 304 SS cat back system. Easy Install. Not as much character as my 2000 system with dual outlets but better than stock. No Room under the unit for a dual outlet so they only offer single system. Still glad I did it. Welcome to the forum CrimsonKing...and I too would love to hear the sound svfetter.

Sorry, don't have the ability to get you the sound. During normal driving you really don't notice it much, especially with the new 6 speeds shifting at such low RPMs. But it does give you a low mellow (pleasing) sound at these low Speeds driving around town. In the stock I could not hear anything on mine which was totally unacceptable.

But when you get on it and make those gears wind out a little or shift it manually it really lets you know you have something different on. I like the Gibson because they are tuned for towing, so they say.

I can say that people who know these newer Expeditions, have noticed this change as soon as I started it up. Hope this all helps.

Hi, I am new to this site. I am on my second '02 Explorer (long story) and am leaning towards buying a 2010ish Expedition. CrimsonKing, how are you liking the change after a year or so from the 03 explorer to the expedition? Are you getting roughly the same gas mileage? Comfort better? Other?

I have a very small utility trailer that I pull from time to time but other than that, I do not plan to do any heavy towing in the near future. My wife, 2 kids and dog go camping from time to time and the explorer is at its limits space wise (with cargo box). I like the idea of having something more heavy duty rather than going with the new explorer (Taurus frame). I will be taking this off-road every now and then. Also, I don't necessarily want to take the trailer camping either...rather just stuff the back and cargo box.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts, or anyone else's thoughts for that matter. How many other members have switched from an explorer to an expedition?

I have a Gibson Ceramic Coated headers but that's it I had them installed by Trux Techz in Harlingen TX I felt a huge difference when I got them. I need a cat back system. my o2 sensors are causing the check engine light to come on which is a pain in the ass... I'm trying to find someone to tune my truck to get rid of that check engine light turned off.

dual will have to be custom made and go under pumpkin or drop the spare and route out that way...only ways to be done unless u go with SUPER small piping...pointless to do that

Are they shorties or long tubes. If they're shorties you shouldn't need a tune. If they're long tubes then I'd talk to 5 Star about a tune with the transport delay adjusted.
