What are my first steps to fixing this?

1. It doesn't adjust to the weight anymore
2. The back of the truck rides down to the ground
3. I haven't changed the relay switch, compressor, or the rear air bags

Help please I'm losing my mind driving like this!!!!!!!!!

Very easy fix!

Steps to take.
1. Replace blown airbags with coil springs.
2. Enjoy!

All joking aside, air ride has no place on an Expy. Get rid of it and you will be MUCH happier. I know I am!

You only need to do the ass end. On the front, just crank the t-bars a little and put '66 Bronco or 74-79 F-150 rear shocks in place of the air shocks.

first thing you gotta figure is where is the problem. Bags? thats $200. Compressor? thats $400ish. Lines and solenoids? dont know the $$.

I agree that the final solution would be to replace it with springs. However in my case I only needed to replace the bags and so I did. $200 shipped. That was 2 years ago and my suspension is leveling since.

the leveling helps if you typically carry heavy stuff or pull a trailer or RV. but if you drive your expy on its lonesome you would probably opt to convert.

switch to springs in the rear in the front swap out the torsion bars for standard ride or the 7700lb and use shocks for a 66 bronco

I have to disagree, I've switch to coils and I regret it, Im switching back to air. Cant beat the comfort and the towing capability.

P.S in the mean time adjust the height sensor all the way up and it will last longer located above the differential

Both very valid points!

I don't particularly care for my truck to ride like a continental or anything... It seems much more responsive and more able to handle corners with confidence if converted.

BUT! I will say the leveling feature while towing is nice, although it does not increase capability whatsoever, it merely levels itself, even then you should have a WDH to distribute weight evenly, not just to level the truck.

That said I'm pretty sure the main reason most people convert is for reliability reasons. I'm also sure there are exceptions to that though. There're probably people who swear by their air suspension and have never had issues, though most have.

You can certainly make a better informed decision with the different points of view here I'm sure :)

I had air ride and loved it. Spent hundreds trying to keep it but in the end I did the Monroe 4x4 rear coil and shocks with the front coil over shocks.............best swap ever.
