I'm sure there are plenty of mods out there, but the biggest thing is to keep your foot our of it. Stay less than 2000 rpms.

A good tune will help out too, with those things.

Is he a tuner? A tune changes values on the car computer, so you would want someone who has experience with that kind of stuff.

But as grasshopper said, probably the biggest thing that affects MPG would be RPMs and a low freeway speed (65 mph).

You'd definitely want someone with experience in tuning. Not a wrench-turner, but almost a computer scientist and programmer with access to good tuning software. Some performance shops have guys that can do this.

There are dividends to be paid in fuel economy simply by changine the part throttle shifting characteristics. How much stall the factory converter has also determines how i would address shift points in my custom tune some of the early trucks have 2400 stall speed. With the loose converters i usually split the gear shifts with the torque converter lockup to make it seem like it is a six speed transmission. Power increases a little bit on regular fuel with better gains on premium.

I increased my gas mileage from 15. to 18.3 by changing plugs and any corroded plug wire connectors at the coil packs, PCV, fuel filter, and using a Synwash air filter from Fram and driving a little less aggressive. I plan on changing my 02 sensors soon to see if that helps any.

Improve MPG

There is a local garage who will drill holes in your airbox and reroutes you hoses and will inprove your mpg to 4 more mpg and charges 160 which will take 1 1/2 hours while you wiat. Will try my daughters EB next week
