Well, like I just complained in another thread, found pinhole leaks in the rusted out elbow of the transmission cooler return line coming out of the radiator. For some reason it's hard to find the rigid/flexible hose assembly going all the way down to the side of the trans for an '05 when Googling Amazon, Rock Auto, etc. Forbid I should go to the dealer.
So it's off to NAPA in the morning to get tubing and a union, bend, flare and hopefully make a patch until I could get to a more permanent repair. Crossing my figures that I caught it in time and didn't do the transmission any harm by running the fluid low. Before I noticed the leak, I felt more pronounced up shifts the last two days that made it feel like I installed a shift kit. I didn't realize that in my case, it's a symptom of low transmission fluid.

Ordered a new Sony head unit for it. I have no idea what I am doing when it comes to audio, but I am sick of the old factory unit. Doesn't work very well in cold weather and using the tape deck thing to play music off my phone is pretty old school haha.

I found a good deal for the HU online, 79.99 plus the Ford harness and enclosure thing for free, and free shipping. Hopefully its not too much to install cause its darn cold in this neck of the woods...

finally got the front tires replaced. the ones that were up there were from 2006 it turns out. they were bald and dry rotted badly I estimate they had at least 70k miles on them...

This pretty much closes out the major maintenance on my expy except for the front end suspension refresh which I may or may not order this week since I am close to moving across country. I'm going to begin to work on cosmetics soon starting with the front end. I need new fenders and the bumper is pushed in slightly. I'm not sure if I want to de chrome her or leave everything in a factory state. what are your opinions?

cureless auto has a how to on replacing the gear in the brake. i dont know how to post links but its in one of his posts. i just did steps 1 and 2 and turned the gear with my fingers to get it to move. i did not put the cable back in when finished and the gas pedal now has full movement.
