I have 1999 expedition 5.4, 4x4.
I have a problem of leaking coolant.
It comes from the upper intake manifold gaskets.

I ordered the upper intake manifold gaskets and the lower intake manifold gaskets.
I want to know each torque sequences.
The upper intake manifold has 10 bolts and the lower manifold has 8 bolts.
Please give me some information. foot-ib

And I think that I should change the metal coolant line the goes from the water pump to the back of the motor.
I think that I need to buy. But because of leaking coolant, ....

Please give me some opinion.

Thank you

From Paul.

The following was copied from the 1999 Service Manual

Installation

Install the upper intake manifold gasket.
Position the upper intake manifold and loosely install the new bolts.

Tighten the bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb-in) and then an additional 90 degrees in the sequence shown.

Install the lower intake manifold:
Position the gaskets.
Install the intake manifold.
Install the bolts.
Tighten the bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb-in) and then an additional 90 degrees in the sequence shown.

Question

Thank you all friends,

I have a question. I have 1999 expedition 5.4, 4x4.
I can see leaking coolant from the back side of engine.
The car repairman said that I need to change the upper intake gasket.

I am curious. Is it possible?
So, I will change this if I receive a part.

Please give me some info.

Thanks.
