The heat only blows out floor vent in rear, not roof vents on 2011 expedition. Anyone know why this is?

because that's the way it was designed.

Then why is this in the owners manual

AUXILIARY CLIMATE CONTROL
1. Fan speed: Turn to select the
desired fan speed.
2. Temperature/mode selection:
The distribution of air from the
overhead and floor registers is based
on the temperature selected. Turn
to select for comfort.
To use the rear climate controls,
ensure that REAR is pressed on the main climate control face

There is no way to blend door in the rear air system. If you notice any time you command anything other than full hot or full cold you get hot from the bottom and cool from the top to blend.

Edit for clarity. AND is the word here.

Don't you wish everyone was as perfect as you

I posted that so that it would clarify the wording in the manual as some may read it differently

Thank you for that

he already said he doesnt have roof vents...no need to point out the "AND" in the post...roxy gives all information so that nothing is taken out of context...so there's no value added

That was one thing I didn't like going from my '04 EB to my '11 limited. In my '04, I never used the floor setting for heat because I directed the roof vents at the back windows to help defog them. What I ended up doing for my '11 was setting the temp to cool so the roof vents would be selected and then unplugged the door actuator so it won't change to the floor when heat is selected.

That is NOT what he said, he stated it only blows out floor vents not roof vents. No where in here does it say he does NOT have roof vents. People here need to start reading posts before commenting and getting people off on the wrong track.

Right or wrong you sure come across as a dick most times.

Your original response was crap. It sounds like you made it up so people are going to question you and even if they misread something, why can't you give someone the benefit of the doubt that it may have been just that?

Good I'm glad I come across as a dick. OP asked why I told him then Roxy chimes in with zero help and more confusion. This isn't rocket science it's a freaking truck. :Violin: I really was hoping for more technical knowledge out of this site other than add cheap HIDS throw some 26"s on it and plastidip is the best mod.

All you said was:
because that's the way it was designed.

Who's going to just believe you with nothing to back up what you say or any type of explanation? You didn't say it was in the manual or where you got this info from. It was useless IMHO. At least Roxy posted the actual correct information regardless is he misread or overlooked something. It was there unlike your post.

No one is trying to make this rocket science (except me sometimes :D).

If you want more technical knowledge, add some yourself. Why can't you contribute or do something more? If you did something great, people may try to follow your lead and improve on it. Instead you complain about everyone else. Have you created anything to contribute to the technical knowledge on this site or any site for that matter? just some food for thought.
