You can just drain some out. Remove the drain plug. But make sure you have a catch pan.

I Drove it and no problem so far. One other thing I was wondering. When checking the level, will I get a different result leaving the engine cold and checking after few hours vs checking after the engine is hot after 5 minutes?

The two will close. Main idea is to be within the min - max range on the dipstick.

You will get slightly different readings under the condition you have stated.
It is best to check oil levels after the engine has set for a short period of time as this gives the oil a chance to drain back into the pan. Also when draining oil I always do it when the oil is hot but not when first shutting down. Shut down the engine and wait till the oils cools down enough so you don't get you hand burnt. Check your owners manual to see how much oil is needed for a complete change which would require a filter replacement. After replacing the filter and draining the oil I would put in one quart less than what is required Then start the engine to make sure the oil presure gauge reads normal and check for leaks. Then shut the engine down, wait a few minutes, check oil level, then add the last quart and recheck oil level. At this point you should have a max or near max reading on the dip stick. If needed then add enough to get a max reading, which most likely would require less than a full quart.
When you know how much oil is required for a complete oil change including filter change you should never put more than that amount in the engine. And if you put the correct amount in as required and you get a low reading on the dip stick then you either have the wrong dip stick, or a leak or some other problem that would require you to look into.
