This is my first step into installing a switch for the cabin lights. Once I get it done I will do a short write up. In the meantime, please see Fuse#14
IMG_9115_zpsvxxaffa6.jpg

Im ok with disabling the rear wipers and I dont have a moon roof or flip windows. However it also includes the A)Battery Saver Relay (where is this??) and the B)Accessory Delay relay.

Question: if I disable this fuse, will it have any adverse effect to A & B? I plan to drive the truck with the custom switch OFF at certain times

I think I answered by own question.

Battery saver relay = powers down cabin lights when left on for about 10minutes (from Ranger forums)

Accessory delay = leaves some accessories running once key is removed. e.g. power windows. (from f150online)

It will have a drastic effect on many systems that the Battery Saver Relay and Accessory Delay relay control.

I would suggest that you get copies of the wiring diagrams for your expy so you can see what controls what.

You need to find out what those relays control for your expy and not for F150's and rangers although many things may be the same there may be different circuits involved in one model that may not be in other model.

This is where having a Ford workshop manual comes in handy as it would be specific to your year and model

say again? how do you mean?

Your dashboard dimmer switch is also the switch for the interior lights. Turn the dial to brightest setting then go up some more until you hear a click. All the interior lights will come on.

I understand this - now how do I get the lights to come off? If I unplug the harness from the rheostat will the lights come off?

You can add an additional switch to the control side of the interior light relay to control the on/off ability.

Do you have the diagrams for the interior lights?

Darn it - wish I asked prior. I now have the parts I need to build the switch off of the fuse 14. but thats ok, no big deal.

You'll find another project to use parts for, usually do.

Throw that crap in the drawer. If you plan on adding a few circuits do it the professional way with professional components.

This is just one of a few products available from vendors. Uses one heavy gauge wire to power all the branch circuits. The center lug at the bottom is the power in. Some models have covers also. Notice the lack of "ass connectors".
