tire size increase and towing

Hey guys,

I'm looking at a set of LT265/70/18 Michelins (LTX AT2) and I am wondering how the tire size change from P255/70/18 (stock on my 09 Expy Limited Max) would affect towing?

The 265 is 1.7% larger (diameter and circumference) and 1/3rd of inch wider.

I'm towing a light 30ft travel trailer.

I'm assuming the larger size would lower the RPM at any given speed but will this result in any noticeable degradation in towing power or ability?

It will absolutely take away from towing power. Will you notice it...... probably not.

This. 1.7% is within the difference your find with different manufactures in the same tire size.
