I've got a 2004 4.6l that just doesn't have the poop to pull a camper in the Ozarks. I was thinking of swapping in a 5.4 to get more torque but I was wondering since I'm gonna swap anyway would there be a better choice of engine keeping in mind that I don't want to have to mess with the electronics much if I don't have to. Suggestions?

Two wheel drive. My reasoning here is that I can pick us 70hp and 70 lb-ft torque right out of the box...tuned up and properly aspirated I'm certain to get way beyond that.
