Hi, I am having a problem with a few different components in my audio system. The problem is the same for all of them (audio clips in and out). I am trying to find out what all of these things have in common.

In a 2011 Ford Expedition, does the Satellite radio, the USB music, and the rear radio controls go directly to the head unit, or do they go through the SYNC module then to the head module?

Also, is the radio VIN coded, or can I buy a new radio and slap it in there with no issue?

Thanks in advance!

You might try posting this in Audio and Electronics as it might be more visible for your specific questions. I'm sorry I really don't know the tech side of the audio systems.
