Well idk what kind of organization they have going on at WeatherTech but I just got an email it was delivered. It wasn’t even supposed to ship yet. I’ll see when I get home later. Was it flimsy?

No, very sturdy. In fact I was wondering if the 'bumpers' were even needed. the deflector does not bend much.

I don't know what brand mine is as it came with the truck. It doesn't have bumpers and is very sturdy.

I thought I saw ARE on it but I could be mistaken

When I bought my WeatherTech floor liners, they delivered them in three days from the time I placed my order. I was expecting it to take a week or more. They under-promise and over-deliver.

It was nice and sturdy as stated by NorthGeorgia and was an easy install. Good for the money and adds a better less plain look, overall I like it. My only complaint is the slow arrival of it.

Well, Flex's idea has caught my eye. I like the clever idea of painting the backside to show-while-protecting the color. I have the "magnetic" painted grill and don't like bling so chrome it out but painting a clear one might not be too bad but let me explain;

As some of you know, my girlfriend lives on the Eastern Shore in Md....and for those that don't know, the Shore(as we call in in Annap) sits low and contains a ton of marshland making the bug density the thickest I've ever seen anywhere in the USA and I've drive or ridden in nearly all of the States save for 5.

I should really post a pic after driving over on the weekend to see her in the summer. Driving on a summers night sounds like rain or hail when driving on the shore at night...the bugs are that thick so I'm not sure how much one of these would really help me?

I think if I do decide to get one, I would follow Flex's brilliant example....it just looks really well done and it's "camouflaged" to blend in with the truck so it's not so obvious....something that would bother me.

NG's also looks really good....the contrast of the black over the red looks really sharp....you guys that bought a little later in the model year when more colors were available are lucky. I love my white tri-met paint but once you get 5 feet away, you can no longer see the metallic....I just wish it was a bit more pronounced. :(

They agreed to give me a refund but pushed me to have it replaced with another unit. No thanks.

They agreed to give me a refund reluctantly and wanted me to exchange for a new one? Uh why would I buy the same crap that failed after a day. NO THANK YOU. This is the final result of one day with correctly installed with bumpers and all.

How did it crack? Things don't just crack on their own. Did something hit it or was that from the force of the wind?

Very windy yesterday 55 MPH gusts. They apologized and said the product should have survived the wind and it must have been defective. I had to send them pics even to show it was correctly placed and they determined it was product defect.

Well that's enough to change my mind. Although I've bough WeatherTech Floor Liners for 4 vehicles and the have been wonderful to deal with all four times. Delivery has typically been 3-4 days to Fort Wayne IN. I'm probably going to hold off on the bug deflector for now.

Is the chrome one you are talking about the one from AnythingAuto?

Andy I am ordering the AVS Chrome hood shield. It’s $130 hopefully I get what I pay for this time. I’ve always heard great things about weathertech just so happens I get the one defective hood shield *sigh*. I kind of flipped because I was very disappointed in it. When you wait for something, then go install it and it breaks it really grinds your gears. After I finally got someone who speaks English they were much easier to deal with. They expressed that they didn’t want to lose a customer and were very apologetic unlike the first guy I talked to. I just don’t want to risk it again You know? If they had a bad run of these things my free replacement Could be the same deal as this one.

I ordered Auto Ventshade 436033 Aeroskin II Matte Black yesterday. Should have it Friday. Hoping it looks pretty good.

If they are willing to replace it, let them, nothing but a little time.

WeatherTech is a good American company. ALL of their stuff is made right here in the US, not many others you can say that about.

I can agree with that. I wouldn't want one from them at this this point.

See, just one faulty. I have never heard of anything bad from them. My Mom loves the ventvisors, and has had them on all of her vehicles for as long as I can remember, no issues, and she is hard on them.

I'm only talking about the bug deflector I've bought 4 sets of liners from them and I'm very happy with them. My concern is if you have one bad one, and they come from a run, what's to say that the same defect isn't present in all that the were made in that batch.

I hope it’s just mine that was bad and not other’s. Like I said it was windy yesterday but it should not have cracked the way it did straight down the middle. Very bizzare.

That’s the thing, we don’t know. Maybe an employee dropped it and it had a hairline crack, maybe it suffered an impact in shipping that caused an invisible fracture. Maybe it was indeed bad plastic. All I know is that it cracked and it wasn’t that way before.

Did it come off while you were driving or was it hanging on?

It was still on. The section that cracked actually has its own fastener in it. The fracture happened between two fasteners. The crack went all the way through after moving it.
