Thanks guys, yesterday I removed the Stereo from the car and then opened it up (The Pioneer unit splits in 2 halves) and then cleaned out the Map DVD reader, put it back together and now it completely refuses to read my latest version 13P DVD, however it reads the previous 12P version just fine, so maybe it really was an issue with the DVD all along? Have contacted Ford to see if they will exchange my 13P DVD for another 13P disk in the hope that might solve the issue!! It took quite a while to get the stereo into its 2 halves!! but it does seem nicely made and there was no noticable dust and dirt inside the unit!!

Well the 12P navigation DVD is working great since cleaning the lens. It seems the 13P is causing most of the issues, the GPS still wont read it. I tried contacting Ford to see if they would exchange the 13P DVD for another disk, but they are wanting my order number and date, and I cant find any record of when I purchased it, so stuck with the 12P version for the moment. As these DVD's are VERY expensive it annoys me that I cant use the latest version. There seems to only be a single place to purchase the DVD, but they seem to be unwilling to search their records for my purchase, so it's down to me to find a record of the purchase.

Gary, if you used your credit card to purchase the DVD you might be able to go online and pull your statements. Many allow you to expand the individual line items to get more details. It's just a thought.

Go on to their site like you are going to order an upgrade and then see what payment methods they offer, that might spark your memory.

I had to purchase an updated DVD but when I got the error message I removed the DVD and it was filthy! I ran it under water with a tad of soap and dried it good. And there you go! Worked instantly! I have a 2007 so I am sure it gets dusty! Quick, easy fix!
