Put your Expy in gear, then press ‘-’ on shifter handle...you should then be able to see the gears.

It's the same answer.. hit the little [-] button under the rotary shiftier while you are in gear.

No manual shifting required. If it’s not showing the gears, press the “+” button and it will start to be displayed. Press it again if you want to stop it from being displayed.

and once it's been toggled on, it does stay on. I have my gear display on all the time, through power cycles.

pressing the + or - once will make it display, but still full auto.
if you want to be in manual, put the vehicle in manual, and use the + and - buttons to shift up and down.

it's very straight forward when you are sitting in the driver seat.

This^

it's very straight forward when you are sitting in the driver seta

This is my first ford, coming from a dodge grand caravan, but i can say it worked the same as the ford, if you started bumping the [-], it would remove available gears from auto. so if you were already in the top gear, bumping - would have the same effect of a downshift, as it removes the current gear from the options. I would usually do this when downshifting for long downhills. The ford performs the same, you can [-] a few times to force it to downshift, then [+] again to allow those gears to be selected again (and up shift by using your foot).

And this^ are two TOTALLY different things!! When someone asks how they get the gear shift indicator to populate and someone replies just hit the minus button. That is not good advice and lacking critical information!!!! The fact that you can make gears disappear, warrants that when the question of how to make the gear shift indicator appear, a full explanation should be given!!! A simple post to the manual fully explained it to me. I FULLY grasp how it operates and why. I am simply stating that until Rcompart posted the manual, the advice/answer was for the most part wrong.

As for the manual shifting in auto mode, again I FULLY understand. It operates differently than any Ford I have driven in respect to being able to manual shift while in auto. It was convenient IMO, but nothing I will not be able to adapt to. I used it very little, but did get used to it.

I have understood many posts back. Some here don’t understand the ramifications of a short reply to a question that has a much longer answer!!

ok, to the original question. can the speed limit be put on the dash info display, or is it only available on the big screen while in navigation? i am really hoping that it can be displayed in the info center on the gauge cluster. that was available on our 16 explorer w/ sync system. we are NEVER in the nav screen, so having it always displayed in the speedometer area was awesome!!!!!

my wife is driving the truck back and asked me. i am not around or in the truck yet

Speaking of the speed limit indicator, does anyone feel it's weird the Expy doesn't come with a HUD like all other premium full size SUVs?

I’ve had GM vehicles with it in the past and just didnt think it brought much to the table. Subjective for sure.
