2017 Expedition Air Suspension

Hey all.

I have a 2017 Expedition and I need to get air bags in the rear to level out the added load of my vehicle. I cannot find any after market items as they are struts (independent rear suspension).

I have 2 questions.

1. Is there any aftermarket kits that anyone knows about that I can get working on this truck?

2. Can the 2017 Navigator leveling system work in the back of this vehicle?

Nivomat mechanical self-leveling shocks. It’s what came in the 15-17 Expedition/Navigator with load leveling. They are factory replacements for the shocks, do not require external devices of any kind, and those who have them seem to like the way they work.
I can’t remember the specifics, but the upper mount, coil spring, and shock are all different part numbers from the standard or CCD suspension. Whether or not it requires replacing all three components or you can just replace the shock, I’m not sure. On RockAuto, the factory Motorcraft Load Leveling Shocks are $140.99.

In addition, Ford lists the standard 2015 rear shocks as fitting the 2014 Expedition, so I’m just guessing here, but see no reason the earlier air suspension couldn’t be retrofitted into the newer trucks. Only problem I saw is a complete lack of aftermarket options for the air springs, and on Tasca they are $556 each.

It could be, except for the wiring. It's all in the main wiring harness, and the 2015s won't have the wires you need anymore. The other problem would be the BCM, the version of the software on the 2015+ probably has no concept of air suspension.

If it were me, I would definitely drop the Nivomats in there. They're rock-solid, I can't for the life of me understand why Ford dropped them on the 4th-gen.
