Well, "my" car finally arrived at the dealer on 4/27, 3 months to the day from the time I placed my deposit. This was the one that got built "wrong" (factory omitted the HD tow package), and I had to start over with a completely new order in early April, so I'm waiting again. Anyway, I went by to look at it today and it is sweet, but we need the HD tow because we pull a travel trailer. So it's available for anyone else--I know that the second row bench seats are pretty hard to come by. Dealer's price on the window is $75685 and reflects discounts and rebates. MSRP is $80060. Nice car if it is what you're hunting for.

I have a blue Platinum (regular length) with HD tow and 2nd row bench. I can testify to the difficulty of finding the 2nd row bench in a Platinum, with HD tow. We had to drive 3.5 hours (one way) to Louisiana to get ours. So far we are quite happy with it though! We got the regular length because we have a small family and it fits in our garage.

There is no doubt Ford has these Expeditions a little overpriced. Hard to believe a mid level (Limited) Expedition MAX is more expensive than a fully loaded Yukon XL Denali. The Platinum Max is up in the Cadillac Escalade Price range. Wait a year and I will guarantee Ford will start lowering the prices, especially with the next gen Suburban/Yukon XL/Escalades coming out next year.

I am sure all manufacturers will offer rebates etc. The only Ford product that I haven't seen any rebates is the SVT line. I was just inquiring on a Raptor and all dealers had mark-ups on top of MSRP. Some as low as 5k and as high as 20k. That was insane.

3 yrs ago when the gms were released, fully loaded they were 10k more than there nearest competitor. Even now, the ford s fully loaded are less than the gms fully loaded. What makes gms seem cheaper is they are easy to option up as gm doent pkg specific options together like the ford does.

If you think that's bad, after all the discounting, I could've gotten a Yukon XL Denali for less than I paid for my XLT FX4. And that was with X-Plan pricing.

What prices are you seeing? I just browsed and the most expensive Chevy Suburban I could find within 50 miles of where I live was listed at $75,500 before rebates (and thats inclding a set of $2995 22 inch rims) . Which is almost the exact same price as a moderately equiped Expedition Max with 301A and bucket second row seats, no 22 inch rims. To get a Ford Expedition Max optioned the same as the Suburban I just mentioned, you are well over $80,000...

Price wise GM wins the price competition, not even close.....

Once you get to the Platinum trim on the Expy you are no longer competing with the Suburban, you are competing with the Yukon XL Denali...and that has an MSRP of $80k+.

In my opinion (and this is overly simplified) the Expy XLT compares to the Suburban, the Expy Limited compares to the Yukon XL, and the Expy Plati compares to the Denali. If you look at those pairs against each other, the prices are really close.

You can easily buy, without haggling, a brand spanking new zero mile 2018 MAX 4X4 for $46K. MSRP is under $52K.

Power window, locks, rear view camera, 3rd row seating, 18 inch alloy wheels, fog lights, power mirrors, auto headlights, rear tinted glass, SYNC, rear HVAC, power mirrors, keyless entry, power drivers seat, tilt, push button start, full carpeting, AM/FM/CD, rear audio and HVAC controls, full front console, running boards, white letter tires, full size spare, overhead console, etc.

Really, what the heck else do you need? Everything else is want and I'm not personally seeing $30K worth of nice extras.

If we're going by that logic, you can get a minivan for $28k and what the heck else do you need? Everything else is want, and I'm not personally seeing $20k worth of nice extras.

Optioned out exactly the same and i didnt add any accessories for the tahoe. Like i said before they are proportionate except gms optuons are ala carte. If it wasnt for the fords coming out and gm adding extra incentives, pricing is highly competitive.

Ford will negotiate eventually. With GM you are not paying anywhere close to sticker unlike the fords. I agree on the options the XLT is a great buy for the mid 40s, much outshines the limited and platinum trims in terms of value.
