Starting last week we started getting rear hatch/rear window ajar error messages. Go back and check and nothing was. Vehicle has 1200 miles. Anyone else getting these? Dealer told us to wait to see if it gets any worse so they can recreate the issue.

I have been getting these messages for months, but my liftgate window is unlatched. Totally random, won't take it in until I can reproduce it taken it in

We have a few more issues, curious if anyone else is experiencing.
- Still having the rear window issues. Getting rear window ajar warning. Sometimes it is latched (open and close to get error message to clear). But most of the time it is unlatched yet no button pushed. Also had one issue of not being able to get it to latch.
- Passenger mirror makes all kinds of clicking noises when folding/unfolding
- Rear main hatch door only raises 1/3 to 1/2 way. Raise by hand then close automatically. Happens on about every 4th or so lift. Never been programmed to open to anything other than fully.
- Had 2 instances of the power deploy able running boards not deploying. My wife and I use these for every entry and egress. Have them on my F150 plat as well. Let me tell you we both about hit the deck. One of those things you don't think about, they are always just there.
- Lastly, rain sensing wipers not working. Never have but finally had a rainstorm to check them on. Only the top two settings (non sensing, med-high, and high work) Bottom several clicks just wipe once and never again. Finally had to turn off the sensing function and revert back to timed wipes for all speed settings.

I had the last problem (with the wipers) but it was a hardware issue...the sensor had not been properly attached to the glass at the factory. Not sure if it's a similar issue wit you but it might be worth a look.

As of yesterday the running boards decided to stop working. We could hear them trying but no movement. Truck went into shop this morning and tech is hoping that its a loose ground for the whole works as he's yet to see any of these issues on the new Expy's. I will update tomorrow with what they find.

After having the vehicle for en entire day and putting several test miles on it they ended up recoding the ecm. The running boards worked last night but as if they were delayed. Then this morning nothing. Drivers side doesn't come out and passenger came out and stayed. Feels more like a 2007 and not a 2018. Called my tech and he explained that once they plugged in and the error codes came up Ford Motor Co was on his phone seconds later. Ford tech worked with my local tech to try to rectify. I called in the fail this morning and he told me it will most likely need a new ecm and he suspects that Ford is aware of the issue hence the call from the mothership. Wipers needed a new part which was failing. Mirror just needed an adjustment. They could not get neither the tailgate or rear window to act up.

Sorry to hear that you are having so many issue for such an expensive new SUV. How many miles do you have on yours and what trim level is it?

Wow - sad. Miserable quality for ANY new vehicle. Good luck.

I have the exact same Expy. Haven't ran into the issue you are having... I have about double the miles on mine.

I'm hoping that its just a faulty ECM and all our issues go away and this all becomes a very distant memory.

I've got some disturbing news 18 Expy owners. Was just informed that the module needed to fix our running boards has been pulled. Turns out this is a major wide spread issue and Ford is working to replace the malfunction module. We are told there is no eta on replacement parts. My local dealer was able to get both in the up position and disengaged them. I will advise once i have more info. Took delivery in May.

I purposely purchased mine without the deployable running boards because it is a high use item that tends to wear out quickly because it deploys every time a door is opened. Plus I like the looks of the regular running board. The easy entry driver’s seat was the first thing to go out on my 07 Expy so I just turned it off in my 2018. The life cycle on these things is just not there yet. I hope Ford gets it together quickly for those effected.
