i have a 98 expy 4x4 and at very low speeds i.e. 5 mph i hear a clicking noise from my front pas. wheel and at speeds over 50 there is a noticeable roaring vibration coming from that wheel and it is very prominent when in 4 wheel high at any speed. any ideas?

sounds like wheel bearing or wheel hub assembly, could be the cv joint also
i was thinking the bearing. its not a cv click. i went to have it aligned today and found out i need all 4 ball joints , sway links, and an idler arm. they wanted 800 to do it and i said ...uh, no.. i went and bout the parts for less than 200 bucks and ill be putting it together tomorrow, maybe i will be able to tell if the wheel bearing is bad then.

i dont mind that uppers are a one piece that way the upper bushings get replaced that way/.. what brand did you go witb?
i just bought the autozone brand. isnt the wheel bearing and hub one assembly? twice now it has gotten about a million times louder and sounded like the sound you hear when you ride a roller coaster slowly to the top of a hill driven by a chain, you know, that clank clank clank sound, and then outta nowhere it gets quiet again.....wtf?

yes it is a bearing hub assembly... when it was in the shop did they check the wheel berings
