No 281 is what I have 4.6L 3v. It's not a Shelby, I wish lol. By the time 8 seconds goes by, you wouldn't be able to see my tail lights. There's no comparing the power differance in these two vehicles. Believe me I know personally. My Mustang is basically a stock 2006 Roush, with the flash tune. It's never seen a dyno. I'm not saying the 3.5 is a slouch by any means. I'm really impressed at the job they do towing through the mountains. They definitely out perform the past v8 chevys & fords my uncle has had when hauling his 28ft camper to Bristol, tn.

Mike Wolfe - do you know how much additional boost your tune adds? My JMS Boostmax chip adds 5lbs of boost and it really helped my white whale in 0-60 times. I have not done any testing on it but I plan to take out my old GTech pro and check out the times.

As some other have mentioned here, I am concerned using a tuner and the possibility of voiding my warranty if something goes boom. The JMS Boostmax leave no footprint on the ECU that shows it was flashed. I have had warranty work twice on my 17 Expy and both times I removed the Boostmax. Both were engine component issues (MAP & throttle body) that I dont think would have been affected by the increased boost but I wouldn't put it past a dealer to say the tuner messed it up.

I am familiar with tuners as I have a Steeda tune on my 2013 Mustang GT with 6sp auto. Steeda tells me the tune adds 44HP / 52 TQ to the factory tune. I was able to decrease my 0-60 times from 4.4 seconds to 4.1 seconds. I also changed the rear tires to wider, summer tires that helped with this. I doubt that my Expy would be anywhere near close in 0-60 times against my Mustang. Maybe I am in the high 5's or low 6's in 0-60 times.

Did you know you can move that gauge up to the top right so that it replaces your trans temp?

I will definitely be getting a tune on my platinum for all of the reasons mentioned in this thread. A good tune is demonstrably better than stock. It has much better throttle response and passing power. It is our family rig, we aren’t drag racing in it! Don’t get me wrong, I may leave a red light quicker than the guy next to me a few times for ***** and giggles, but it won’t be abused.

We tuned our 16 platinum explorer a few months after we got it and it ran like a scalded dog!!

I have to agree. A Hennessy supercharged Yukon Denali making 805 HP and 812 TQ (at flywheel), does 0-60 in 3.9 seconds. Yukon Denali is close in weight to an Expedition.

I would say mid 5 second 0-60 times are more realistic for even the most aggressive ecoboost tune out there.

Peak boost is around 17-18 psi when I just gave it around 90% throttle in 4a sport mode from 1st gear.This expedition does have the tow pack. Typically the higher you go in the gear set, the harder you load the engine which in return generates most back pressure resulting in increased turbo spool. I assume the factory ecoboost twin setup has built in BOVs or recirculation valves.

OK, you made me go look and it has recirculation valves and wastegates. On the second look I found the recirculation valves.

It' definitely set to dump at 18psi. Did a few stomps and you can tell it hits 18 then falls very quickly and tries to recover.

Yeah that's stock as can be.

Personally, I don't need more boost lol....

Just a casual 70psi in Mexico with a speedometer out of calibration....
