Hi all,

Just picked up a 2018 Limited Expedition and I was wondering if it's possible to have Artist/Song playback information displayed on the driver's instrument display? I haven't seen any option for this on any of the views I've played with so far, but maybe I'm just missing it.

Thanks!

Nope. Artie can in his Navi, but that's because he spent the big bucks. Us plebes in the Expeditions are left turning our heads slightly to the right.

(I'm being silly, of course. It ****** me off that Ford didn't allow this. When I got a 2015 Escape as a rental it had this capability, but my 2018 platinum expedition does not...go figure.)

One of my biggest issues with mine. Hopefully when ford updates sync and mft, they re add to the tach display.

My 17 displays info. There is a option to turn it off though if wanted. Not sure how to explain, but I know it was something about txt info. My wife thought it had to do with cell phone, but I enabled it and the artist and song's started appearing. I don't see why they'd drop it in the 18's?

Does it display on the regular head unit and just not the drivers display? My 07’ shows it on the main screen but nothing in my year for the drivers display.

Edit: I read a little better this time and see that’s indeed the consensus. Looks like it’s not available on the expy.

Ok, I laughed hahaha
This will sound quite aristocrat but I didn’t know this was a feature as I do not listen to terrestrial radio. I’ll switch to one of these plebeian bands tomorrow to check this out.

Sry if i wasnt clear, but in the 15 - 17 my, ford put the audio n climate info in the tach and it was adjustable. On 18+, unless you get a navigator, that info wont display in the tach area at all its completely deleted. You can choose btw different info screens, but none shows media, Time, or climate info

Correct. You cannot display any “entertainment” information in the instrument cluster in the Expi, although you can do so in the Navi.

See this picture from a random Ford Edge I found online.

You can’t do anything like that in the Expis. Which seems reeeDICulous to me as surely it’s not hard to put an “entertainment” tab on the cluster with the towing, off-road, settings, trip, etc tabs.

The display is where the expedition falls short. The explorer I had had better dash info. This is where you can tell it was built from an f150.

Would be nice to have, but would rarely use it. My last few GM vehicles had it. The only time I would use it was if I was using navigation on the head unit.

Interesting that they made the choice to take it away...could just be another tab or customized on the user screen very easily if the function previously existed...clearly the two systems talk to each other (or are one in the same) since the navi will display on the dash...

My 2016 XLT EL does but has one quirk - it shows the artist and song are flipped compared to the Sync display.

With the steering wheel controls on the right side choose Entertainment.
