Alternative rse

Installed an eonon c1100 setup yesterday. ~200 bucks off amazon. Happy with it so far. Both units have DVD players so they can play different movies or they can be slaved to each other. Fm tuners are built in. I ran the wiring inside the seat backs and into the center console where I tapped into the 12v outlet wiring, but it comes with cigarette adapters so if you didn’t mind seeing the wiring you could skip all that and have it up and going in no time.


You never know with this cheap overseas stuff, but sometimes you luck out, and either way I could still go through 10 of them before the oem setup would make more sense.

Audi gave me a slingbox a couple years ago which I generally use to watch live tv in the garage without a separate cable drop, but when paired with a fire stick and a mobile hotspot it also works great to watch live tv in the car.

Please share how you attached the RSE to the back of the Navigator seat and which aftermarket unit you installed. I need 2 DVD players, so the factory unit is not an option. Thanks.

Nice Setup

I’m cheap.
Kids suck it up and watch the same thing when we allow it. Which is very few and far between. I have an iPad headrest mount plug it into the Sync USB and that is it.
Cost me all of $22 for the mount already had the iPad and cable.

All DVDs and BluRays are ripped to digital files upon purchase so they get loaded up on the iPad.
I may spring for a monitor that can take a USB or SD media plus HDMI and use a Fire but then that is 3 cables instead of 1.

unit came with spring loaded mounts that fit between the headrest posts.

How to you open the center console to find the power supply? Just bought a new to us expedition. I have similar DVD players pictured and want to hard wire them.
