Well parked the new Expy under a Walnut tree and could hear the barrage of falling walnuts on the truck, by the time I move it one made a nice dent on the hood.

Anybody have any experience with the dent removal process in Aluminum.

on the plus side the dent is on the passenger side and covered from my view by the Windshield wiper

I have not had it done on aluminum; however, with a previous vehicle I had dents removed by one of the paintless dent repair techs twice. Neither time was the cost more than $75.

Aluminum has less strength and resistance to denting/ warpage than steel that’s the issue. My hood and liftgate are both aluminum. I have a few minor dents you can see if you look just right at the hood from the same thing, a walnut tree when I was down at camp. There was also a Dodge and a GMC under those trees, no dents on their steel hoods. A dent repair place should be cheap as long as it’s not on a crease it will pull out.

The paintless guys can do aluminum. I had a parking lot ding removed from my passenger side door and they didn't have any problem with the aluminum.

I had a BMW X5 ding my new f150 on the c-pillar between the can and bed. It was hard enough to cause a crease. It took the paintless dent repair guy an hour to pull and smooth the dent. It’s not noticeable now. Cost me $100 cash.

Dent Wizard removed dents on my aluminum Lincoln LS back in the day. It takes longer than doing a removal on steel because aluminum has no memory and won't "pop" back into shape. It has to be worked slowly ... thus the extra charge.

But the end result was no dents for a reasonable charge.

The work they do is amazing. I had a nasty door dent from the local dealership smacking my door into the lift. They called in the paintless dent people to fix it and there isn't the slightest hint it was ever dented.
