This thread is similar to the stripe removal thread. I plan on re-painting the eddie bauer trimmings a different color. The fender flares are straight forward to remove but does anyone know how to remove the front and rear bumper pad and the lower door trimmings? I'm stumped.

the rear bumper pad pretty much just pops off. its kinda tough though but it is just clipped into the bumper. as for the front, you need to take the bumper off and then you will see all the little bolts and clips that hold the pad in place. thats how i had to do it when i painted mine.

the door modeling is taped on... get a hot day and some piano wire or strong fishing line and work it like a saw and remove door stuff

crawl under the truck and look at your bumper. there are a total of 8 bolts holding the bumper on. 2 on the outside of the frame (on either side) and 2 on the inside of the frame (either side). you will have to remove the rubber dust cover flap thingy that helps keep crap out of your engine bay. i will try to take some pics today and show you what im talking about if you cant find them. pull those 8 bolts out and you can pull the bumper off. just follow the frame rails to the bumper and you should see the bracket that holds the bumper on.

kwt, he asked for front bumper removal. for that demo, there is 8 bolts. to get the bumper pad off the rear, he doesnt have to take off the bumper, just use a pry bar and some strength, but making sure not to break the clips. wasnt a problem on mine.

socom, i started in the middle. just use gentle pressure and it will start popping off. start in the middle and work your way out to the edge.
