Many more Expeditions sold than Expedition EL. I’d agree the EL rides better, this is due to the longer wheelbase. The regular length is noticeably faster if you mash the go pedal, esp with 3.73s. EL has much better cargo capacity behind the 3rd row. The Expedition is a better performer off road than the Expedition EL.
actually 15 through 17 and before all have same wheel base...but yes they ride better with the added rear overhang length,

Personally I see alot more short expeditions vs EL, same thing with Chevys I see a lot more Tahoe's vs suburbans, also cadillac Escalade & Lincoln Navigators, however almost all GMC Yukon's I see are the XL versions (suburbans)... always wondered why the Yukon sells more in suburban form than the short version

I’ve noticed the same about GMC, interesting...

We have an EL. I saw many more standard for sale than EL, very few of either with HD towing. My wife went from a suburban XL to the Expy, so we already had the ITS TOO BIG arguement. My brother has a tahoe and Navigator and she definitely wanted more cargo space. EL is definitely worth it especially with towing. Our Dog also appriciates having the larger area in the back to roam from side to side sniffing out the vented windows!

The nice thing about the regular length is you can park in sub compact spots. To be able to park with smart cars and focus hatchbacks comes in handy when everything else fails.

LoL I enjoy it most when I park something super long (crew cab long bed trucks and SUVs alike) next to all midget cars, it demands extra attention by passing motorists and fellow "you wish you had this not that midget focus" crowd...

Now THAT is some funny stuff! LOL.....hey, I'm in the "all in for yourself" when parking during Christmas but other than that, naw.....I walk. I did park on what seemed like a 45 degree snow-mountain at Arundel Mills mall one year a long time ago and before I met Kerry. GF and her kids never blinked.....good girl.
