Hi,

I'm very interested in buying a 2019 expedition. At the beginning I'm looking for XLT + driver assistance package. But during test drive we found out the xlt has no front parking sensor and no second row captain chair option. Both are important for us. So we start look at Limited trim. I was told front parking sensor will be standard on all limited trim. For my like, if we upgrade to Limited trim, I would want to have CCD since everyone here praise how awesome it is. So I was checking the different packages and options on limited. I found these two build seems to have what I want. But I'm not sure what's main difference between them. They are about less than $1000 difference. So my question is: What's the difference between these 302A or 301A + special edition package? I saw both have 360 degree camera. Both have 22" wheel with CCD. Both have driver assistance, Led, and enhanced parking packages. Special edition seems to have heavy duty trailer tow package and cargo package. 302A doesn't mention them. What makes 302A $1000 more expensive? Will you choose 302A or 301A + special edition? Why?

Another question not sure if anyone has asked before. It's possible to install front parking sensors on xlt. I asked the dealer where I test drove, they told me they can't do it. If it's possible, I may go with it since it's almost 10 thousands cheaper.

Thanks,
Jay

The only difference is rele the wheels, they come with different wheels. I would save some money and get the special edition, it comes with more equipment.

Look at the website for American Muscle. They sell a front bumper audio alarm for $139. Wish I would have bought that one. Instead, I had a car sound shop install one for $300

When I was getting ready to order mine I compared a 301A Special Edition with a 302A with HD towing, but had already ruled out the 303A due to reported price.
With the same paint color, same equipment, in a Max configuration, the 301A w/Special Edition we purchased had a MSRP of $76,750, and the 302A w/max towing had a MSRP of $80,135. I subsequently found a 303A Stealth Edition doing a dealer search, pulled up the sticker and it listed for even more than the 302A...all three equipped pretty much the same. The Special Edition package is a super deal. Needless to say, that's what we ordered. And no, we didn't pay anything even close to MSRP.

Regarding your other question: The front proximity sensors are not real useful as they don't alert to anything further than 14-inches from the bumper (like a child, a pet, a curb, or a toy). The 360 degree camera allows you to "see" how close you are to something, IF it's turned on. For anything more than 14-inches away, you'd have to know that "something" is there in the first place to hit the camera button because you can't count on the sensors for that. The front proximity sensors DO trigger the camera IF you have your foot applying some pressure to the brake pedal. Let's say you're creeping forwards with your foot on the brake pedal: by the time you hear the alert tone, look over at the camera image, and react, you will likely have moved that 14 inches and hit whatever is there. They're almost like not having sensors at all.

No, the front sensors are not good for driving via instruments only like in Bird Box, but in a vehicle with such a high hood they’re invaluable for parking.

Sharp looking! That Ruby Red is my favorite color, but since my last three Ford trucks have been red colors, my wife decided that it was time for a change...to her favorite color, White Platinum.

Ruby Red is my personal favourite too, but white (as I've heard) covers a multitude of sins.
