Should the electrical feature fail for the 3rd row seats, is there a way to bypass that and bring them up or down manually? Couldn't find anything in the manual.

Nor is there a way to fold them down or more importantly raise them up without opening the tailgate as I discovered when parked with a truck inches from my rear and was taking on extra passengers.

I had to pull out of parking space (was parallel parked) onto the road to jump out, open tailgate, push button to raise seats, close tailgate, jump back in, passengers loaded and pull off to much beeping and annoyance of traffic. :)

No as they are driven by motors that turn screws.

I've had them stop responding if liftgate open too long, but if vehicle started again .. work.

My 2014 is same way, have to have liftgate open … but not for too long

I'm able to open the glass only (rather than the whole liftgate) and reach in to hit the buttons. But I do agree there should be a way to lift/drop them from somewhere else in the vehicle.

Somewhere accessible to the driver or front passenger would be probably be best. Maybe they'll add that in a mid gen refresh.

I think they want you outside the truck, away from the seats while the seats are in motion. They want you near the seats but out of the way so you can see theres nobody else in the action area. Don't want any injuries. Litigious world we live in.

I'm not so sure that's a bad thing.

Probably not.

Having said that, I'm sure there's a way to jerry rig your own switch up to the centre console. Or wherever one may please really.

Could put a switch up on the dashboard, over on the left, just above the lighting switch using red wire out the back.
