No it doesn't. Especially after spewing the ignorance about Police and Military discounts being distasteful. Stay in California so your ignorance doesn't spread.

No need to get all aggro

If crossing guard or plumber discounts were in vogue with a strong minority of the population that perceived them as some sort of show of civic pride or patriotism or whatnot, you'd probably be scoffing too....

So yeah, imho, powertrippy meter maids, glorified secretaries, government-employed mechanics, or fry cooks with crew cuts ain't by default more worthy than your Average Joe.

And as to actual professional homicidal jackboots.... they're a necessary evil. That, again imho, are less necessary and in the least quantity EVER in the here and now...

Feel free to ridicule me if and when ******, Genghis Khan, or something else of similar caliber shows up at one of the borders loaded for bear... and no, common criminal traffickers or disgruntled ex-farmers in crude suicide vests most certainly do NOT count

PS crossing guard discounts WOULD be more relevant... because **** drivers are currently a bigger threat to the American public. Literally, by the numbers.
Or, hey, how about the USDA? Now THERE is a useful organization protecting the general public. When's the last time you seen anyone done in by contaminated food? Places without proper inspection and certification, folk still drop like flies on a regular basis....

My dad's best friend's son does glorified field plumbing in the Marines. An old high school buddy guards a top secret fence somewhere in the midwest.

Explain again how these activities are intensely honorable, super-worthy, and crucial to our collective safety?

Versus, say, the gas company technician who's shown up at odd hours, nights weekends and holidays, and made sure our little street didn't explode several times last year?

Respectfully...no.

If you've made it to adulthood without being able to answer that question on your own, I am not going to take the obviously significant amount of time from my day that would be necessary to help you understand.

But I do tip my hat to your dad's best friend's son and your high school buddy for their service.

They're a plumber and a security guard.

They're just jobs.

Put your hat back on and tip your waitress or taxi driver a bit more instead next time....because THEY actually do get a hell of a lot less respect than they deserve in their lines of work.

Which, in the taxi driver's case, is actually MORE dangerous than policing OR infantry, btw...

I agree with you here, but the fact that other professions should be given more respect than they get has precisely 0 bearing on the amount of respect which should be afforded to military and first responders.

I'm done here. You can continue to try and make your point, but you won't get another response from me on the topic.

I had a grandfather and a couple great-grandparents who served in WW2... that, I understood.

War, serious stakes, tons of people died making sure crazy genocidal maniacs didn't take over the world. RESPECT.

But drinking the koolaid today? Like the recent Army recruitment video ad that's everywhere, all full of big damn heroes running around everyone firing every which way in a seeming race to run out of ammo...this videogamey farce... where they're all carrying tablets too, and everything is blowing up for no apparent reason, presumably to appeal to gamer kids....COME OOON, GET REAL

Adieu, not sure i follow your logic? The reason Ford has the program is to reward people that are seeking a higher education and I'm just guessing here but generally people just graduating are just getting started in life so a little incentive by way of a rebate makes total sense. As my wife took some grad school classes few years ago I wasn't sure they would accept but they did. Every little bit helps on an $80K truck. Also, there is a cash in hand incentive and it's taken in lieu of the 0%. It's $2250. As for the "country has gone off the rails" not sure how to take that comment? You hit it spot on that college grads generally make more and pay their bills on time so I'm sure that's appealing to a company that tries each year to turn a profit. My wife does have blue eyes and blond hair so following your logic I think we check all the boxes!

I did just edit my original post. Ford must have been watching this thread and I'm sure this will bring a smile to Adieu's face but they wouldn't let me stack the EMS and College Grad discount. Considering my wife didn't actually "graduate" a few years ago and just took a few classes I can't be too angry. Also, as I'm just a volunteer Ski Patroller and not paid EMS I'll leave that nickel on the table for the crossing guards that surely deserve it more than I.

Ordered a Platinum in with TowPkg and NO bucket seats in silver. Very rare combo, so ordered it and paid Invoice, 76k, waiting to see what ford offers additionally...

18 may have a few unaddressed teething problems
18 will sell as a 1-year-older truck the minute you drive it off the lot

My Expy is an 18. Born on date: 24 Aug 18, on dealers lot Sep 18 and I signed the deal on 6 Oct 18. If your 18 was built after 1 Jul 18 I think most all of the fixes have been made for the antifreeze, a/c contamination, outside mirrors and can’t rem the other one or two. Mine has been solid so far.
