Other than a chance to see crazy pictures, I don't see the point of this thread

Wow... just kidding about the cant talk about it (dry group)

Seriously I was coming home through a bad neighborhood on Saturday night(Sunday morning) about 2:00 am. Passed 3 youths and told the wife "That looks like trouble" when BAM.

The tire lost air so fast I was surprised but called Ford roadside for a flat repair.

Their response time was 99 minuets!

I called a friend and got a ride home. when I did Ford roadside folks managed to get someone out in about 40.. I unlocked remotely and they changed the tire. I locked remotely.

I offered them a tip to bring me the car so they came and got the keys and brought it back to me.

It was not till I took the tire/wheel to get it repaired till I learned about the bullet hole in the rim. No wonder it lost air so fast.

$1600 and change for wheel, tire, TPMS, mounting balancing.

Wow, I figured it was self inflected and that's why you didn't want to talk about it. Anyways I bet you won't be taking that short cut anytime soon.

Dang! That sucks!!! Any response from law enforcement? I'd be pushing that like a mad man. At the risk of sounding like a vigilante cowboy, that's why I am always prepared and hope/ pray nothing similar happens when I'm with my loved ones.

What's with people today. Shootings from and at cars are an everyday occurrence any more; and they can happen everywhere, not just in the dicey areas too. Glad you're both OK. A new wheel and tire pale by comparison to an ER bill.

Yeah, my city is going through some tough times with our recent mass casualty shooting from last week at the city’s courthouse. Scary stuff

Your comprehensive motor vehicle insurance coverage should cover this damage, minus any deductible (unless you don’t have it).

*note to self - never buy Ebay rims

LOL! I would disclose that it had a repair. But that rim is not hurt in any way after the hole is welded so it won't leak.
You would be amazed what the wheel repair places can do to make a rim with road rash etc look brand new.

Robbery!! what they charge for new wheels from dealer.

After enlarging the pic (click on it duh), I think I would just heat up a little and hammer the rolled part back into the hole and a bit or JB Weld (regular of course because it's stronger than JB Quik) and be good to go. Then a used tire off marketplace for 40-45 and all set.
I could boot that tire too! Now I have to go enlarge that tire pic too.
