Trucks back at dealership today for new clutch packs! Yay....

They fixed the grinding with replacing all components of the IWEs last week but the chatter turning left or right under power in the morning was still there. 3 technicians for a ride along this morning all confirmed clutch packs are going. Upgrading to new style carbon steel. Thank you 60,000 mile power train warranty!

Assume the clutch packs you are referencing are in the limited Slip rear?

Curious, is the dealership aware of the tune on your truck, and if so they don't give you any problems about drive line warranty work? Or are you reverting to a Stock tune before going to the dealership?

Yes in the LSD, they know about my tune, I always still revert to stock tune before going in. My family has been with them for 15 years. They treat us well

Yep, that’s a common occurrence on Ford LSD or “Trac-Lock” diffs dating back to the nineties, they don’t generally last that long before they act up and then fail altogether. Many LSD’s on older Fords going down the road are no longer functional.

I totally agree. They have several f150 guys that are tuned also, however, they said it’s got nothing to do with my tune and tht it’s a crappy clutch pack to begin with so had no reason not to cover it

So guessing the old clutch packs were organic steel? Are all new clutch packs carbon steel?

Would be nice if they had carbon fiber clutch packs for these.
I know Ford Racing has carbon fiber clutch pack for the Mustang 8.8s.
