So hopefully there is a simple answer, but I haven't figured it out yet. I'm trying to find a setting to illuminate the dash lights during the day so that I can see the HVAC buttons more easily. I know I can just make changes to the HVAC via Sync but I'm in the habit of using the buttons below the Sync screen and they're hard to see on gray days. The dimmer control by the driver's left knee doesn't seem to do anything. Most prior vehicles I've owned allow the dimmer to turn on the dash lights for daytime use. Even when I run during the day with the headlights on, the dash lights don't illuminate since they must have a light sensor to activate them.

Are you running with the headlights "ON" or on "Auto"? Auto won't turn them on during bright days, but ON will.

Running with the "ON" setting since Auto still registers too much light even on gray dreary days to activate the lights. I'll toggle back and forth between "ON" and "Auto" and see if I can see any difference with the dash lights. Thanks for the suggestion.

The one thing I've been annoyed by is the 360 camera goes to night mode if the headlights turn on. so if I go under the carport at the bank drive thru, it thinks its dark, so it throws the lights on and dims the screen and its really a sunny day, so now I can't see the 360 camera screen to watch to make sure I don't curb a wheel on the narrow drive thru lane. annoying.

We have so many gray days during the winter months that I updated my default DRL's to include the fog lights and tail lights via FORSCAN. I'm all for people seeing me coming.

I ended up toggling back and forth between "On" and the "Auto" headlight setting, but it made no difference on whether the dash lights illuminate during the day. The dash lights seem to be controlled by a separate light sensor that decides what's best for the owner of a $75K vehicle. Drives me nuts! Maybe I can figure out where the sensor is and cover it up so the dash lights stay illuminated.
