Hi Folks - new to this forum.

We just bought a 2003 Expedition EB with 5.4

The speed control doesn't work, so I'm in the process of troubleshooting it.

I've run the self test and found the steering column switch bad - replaced.

Ran the self test again and the Deactivator switch or defective circuit gets flagged.

I looked for the switch on the brake master cyl, but I can't see it. All I can see is one on top of the plastic reservoir.

Can someone with a 2003 with 5.4 please take a picture of the switch location? Thanks.

there was a recall for this item so the previous owner may have just unplugged it but it should be on the end of the metal on the master cylinder

Well, zeebot I hope this helps. It's the same for both engines on the 03's. It should be inside near or on the brake pedal. This is out of my service manual.

thanks bud!

I figured it was that one after seeing it on the fordparts.com site.

I'm not sure if you guys know this, but many Ford parts are available on Amazon.com. Just get the part number from the Fordparts.com site and the find the parts for less at Amazon.

I needed a steering column switch and got one there for $150. The Deactivator sw. in on the way for $14.

thanks for all the responses!
