im 100% positive you have to buy a pats bypass module and have 2 factory keys to install a remote start system. that is if you have the pats system. call up best buy and usually they can tell you if you need one or not depending on your year

I'm not sure about the bypass module but I'm pretty sure you do. I had to get an extra key made for my 97 because it had a python remote start system already in it when I bought it. The extra key was because it has a one of the factory keys under the dash in a box that tells the PATS that there is a key in the vehicle. I had Best Buy set it up because it didn't come with any Key FOBs when I got it. So they would be able to tell you what you will need if you are doing it yourself.
