Could 2020 Expy be less reliable because it was made during Corona?

So, I am deciding between a 2020 and 2021 Expy. I can get a much better price on the 2020 and plan to keep it for a long time.

It occurred to me that there were all kinds of manufacturing disruptions in 2020 because of Corona. Plants were shut down for part of the year. When they were not shut down, they were probably changing their processes (for social distancing, etc). Same goes for parts suppliers.

Does anyone have any thoughts on how these disruptions would affect the build quality? Should I just pay more and get a 2021? Ordinarily, I would go for the previous model year and get a better deal, but this year I am not sure. Any thoughts?

Previous model year and longest extended warranty still cheaper than 21 by chance? If so I know which way I'd go. Thay may been shut down and made changes but they also weren't cranking out the same numbers, sales were slower so I wouldn't worry too much

Suv sales were actually up materially in 2020...especially in Q4

Don’t think it matters though. Outside
Of some supply chain interruptions I can’t imagine assembly quality suffered.

If you’re buying, the 2020 Expedition was the subject of seven safety recalls, although all models were not affected by all of the recalls. I do not know if the pandemic had an effect on the high number of safety recalls for the model year.

You did not say if the 2020 is new - but if you’re buying from a dealer, I would ensure any applicable safety recalls have been performed, new or used.

Good luck. Let us know what you decide.
