2016, original owner, 80K miles. Got the dreaded wrench with loss of power on the DIC about a month ago; reset and was fine until yesterday, happened 6 times in a 10 mile drive. Finally pulled over and shut it down and had it towed to the dealer. Hoping they will be able to pull a code(s) and replace the TB, seems to be the problem, will see.

Follow up. Dealer called and it’s the TB, so it’s been replaced, hopefully that solves the problem. This truck has been trouble free since I bought it 80,000 miles and 5 years ago.

Closing this out, picked up truck and it’s running great, no more failures, looks like replacing the TB fixed the problem.

Failure of the throttle body seems to be a common defect on the 2015 - 2017 Expedition models.

I have considered buying a new Ford throttle body for my 2015 and carrying it when I take trips, with the tools to change it.

Has anyone changed the throttle body on a 2015 - 2017 model? Any advice? Thank you.

Yes, when I did my search I found a lot of instances of this issue, there is a TSB on it; apparently error codes 2111, 2112 and 2119 all tied to the TB. There seems to be a later/revised design that replaces the original.

I'm on my third throttle body. Yah, they told me they couldn't find any codes because they cleared each time I shut it off and restarted it. I hooked up my OBDII reader and left it in. I then had the codes each time it happened. I have a 2017 with 35k. All have been replaced under warranty, first in WI, second in IL, 3rd in TX. I now carry an extra one with me.

Posting the same thing on 5 threads is not needed. If you want everyone to see and answer you about it start your own thread.
This might help.
