I'm looking at new to me expy's and want to know when they (manufacture date) got the oil pump issue implemented into the trucks?

Which engine? Assuming you're referring to the 5.4L 3V, none of them came from the factory with an updated oil pump.

I finally got it back yesterday and it runs and drives like new! No more noises and it's very smooth. Here's what they did: - replace all 24 roller followers / rocker arms - while replacing those an exhaust valve tip broke and the valve dropped into the cylinder, so half the engine had to come...

I'm probably wrong but I thought that I read on one of the threads here that in the mid 2008 model year they changed the oil pump?? I'm looking at a 02/2008 manufacture date EB with 120K on it and it looks well cared for and the carfax shows the same... reasonably priced and I want to pull the trigger but I was looking for a nudge to... I have had a 2001 EB, a 2006 EB that I just got rear ended in so I'm on the hunt for another.
My prior trucks have had some quarks that can be dealt with with minimal labor and I like the platform and I drive them fairly hard so I cant complain much. I'm hoping that my next will do the same

You might be thinking of the spark plugs. They changed from the problematic 2 piece design to 1 piece right around then. But it wasn't the oil pump.

The only pump upgrade I know of is when you go in there and upgraded yourself
