This all looks like a CYA on Ford's part. Still no root cause or corrective action for preventing the fire. It's for folks who cannot park their vehicle outside or away from a structure. Disconnect the battery and get them a rental.

I'm curious now that this news is out what is the position of our auto insurance? I would think that knowingly operating a vehicle that can catch fire at any time and be a total lose after the manufacturer has sent out these notice's. I am thinking one could be in a tough situation regarding collecting on a lose.
