Hey so I have 500 miles on my 2022 and tires have the flat spots. Dealer asked me to go 1000 before they would do anything. Any advise in dealing with the dealership?

500 or 1000 makes no difference. Dealer is lazy. Road force test them.if they fail get new ones. But after 12 months or 12k miles they will tell you too bad.

I might suggest anyone that before signing on the line to roadtest the vehicle doesnt have any vibrations. Surely they will likely solve that problem very quickly.

a good dealer will solve it regardless.

They told me the same. I have purchased 7 Fords over the last 20 years....all i said to my salesman and service advisor...this ain't your mother's flat spots ....com'on man its tires not the engine . Call Ford customer service. Tires are a charge back to the dealer if the flat spots are determined to have happened on the car lot...like in the old days. Ford replaced 3 of mine and the dealer had to buy the forth...thats how it works....and of course there is paper work...

Are any of these happening on the dealer lots, though? We're picking up our orders as soon as they come in.

Ford is still using the old pre covid/ chip shortage policy which isn't fair to the dealer...I was told the old pre covid policy was to make dealers responsible for moving their inventory on the lot. As I said in a previous post on this thread, this is just the tip of the ice berg for FMC until the shortage of chips resolves. Mine sat almost 4 months in the winter in Kentucky. My last retail order for a 2016 Ford Explorer platinium was 5 % below invioce and took 6 weeks to get it. We all remember those days....hoping to see those days again. Maybe throw in 0 % financing... LOL!!!

So I talked to a buddy of mine who’s a mechanic (big rig, certified up and down for things I have no clue required it), he said tires getting flat spots for sitting is common but they should roll out in a hundred miles or so esp at highway speed. He said even sitting 6-8 months it’s not common to get “permanent” flat spots. he surmised the issue is cheap rubber compound. He has his share of fords, and said they also inflate tires to the max for storage to prevent flat spots. So seeing them happen now he thinks is more on the vendor. He also suggested investing in better quality, his words “it’s the only 4 places your vehicle touches the road”.

Your friend may be correct...new General tires has solved my problem. Will research the next set of tires when the time comes.

I also tried installing an engine cover, in my case the Ford performance cover. It does not fit either. They have added a bracket with hoses/wiring over the top of the throttle body and also re-routed some of the other hoses/lines on top of the engine along the passenger side. I have the SPP and I cannot see how any of the original engine covers will fit. I even tried trimming the cover to clear the bracket above the throttle body. Still won't fit. Gave the cover to my son who has a 2020 F150. Fit without issue.
I tried to install engine cover from Expedition 2021 (Ford Performance cover) to Expedition Timberline but it didn’t fit.
I still find a engine cover for timberline. If someone know please share.
Thank you.

Oh, no! My new Ford Performance engine cover part number KR7Z6A949A just came in at the dealer today. It sounds like it’s not going to fit our 2022 Timberline. I guess I’ll cancel the order if there’s no way to make it work on a 2022.

Has anybody found a way to make a cover work on their 2022?
