Probably a silly question but my coolant reservoir looks low. Wondering if anyone has a coolant they’d recommend for a 3rd gen? Also how full should I fill the reservoir?

Is it ok to put the motorcade gold in if I don’t know what kind of coolant is in the reservoir now? I read not to mix coolants?

Motorcraft -Yellow is the correct coolant to use. It can be blended with your coolant system's current coolant. However, it is best to drain the coolant system and refill it with Yellow. I put a 3/8" i.d. hose onto the petcock to avoid having the coolant spatter over the front part of the frame. Be aware that if you buy Motorcraft -Yellow concentrate from Amazon, you very well might receive the 50/50 diluted type. This happened to me twice this past summer, each time using a different vendor.

To OP:
I have a 2008 Expy 3rd Gen with 230K miles on it, there are other substitutes for the stock Motorcraft antifreeze you can use Valvoline Zerez G05 works the same as Motorcraft's and sometimes at a lower price.
