Reading about swollen stock lug nuts here, I bought replacement Gorilla spline lug nuts. Part no. 26145BC, which was a 32 pack (I know I only needed 24, but on Amazon it was that or 20, basically same price.

my question is about fitment. Stock lugs nuts are 1 3/4” overall height, and height of the seating cone (measured in same plane as overall height) is 3/8”.

Gorilla nuts are 2” overall (which I knew), but the cone of the seating cone is only 1/4”, roughly half of the seating area as stock.

I didn’t install the new lug nuts because of this. Did I order the wrong part, or is that just how the Gorilla lug nuts are?

Any help/advice is appreciated.

I think what you have is a standard acorn tapered seat. You should get the version “bulge acorn” if available in that style. I know for the hex version, there is 41148BC.

I found that part number, but in looking I also found 61148, which is an "extra large" cone seat. Factory-style bulge acorn. Are these good too, or are they too big? I can't find any dimensions online.

This shouldn't be so difficult.

On Amazon I found Zoffi black forged one-piece lug nuts. They claim to fit my vehicle (large acorn seat), and have a diagram with the proper measurements (incuding the proper 21mm hex size), and they were $43 for 24.

My research showed Gorilla PN 61148 to be the correct PN. I shared it here, including pic from Gorilla's website: https://www.expeditionforum.com/threads/swollen-lug-nuts-recommended-replacement.52023/post-480517

Installed them over the holidays with my new Ford Performance 20" black alloys and Nokian Hakkapeliitta snows. Ready for winter! As noted elsewhere, torque to 150 ft lbs and recheck them after 50-100 miles. I actually retorqued them after they sat for 30-60 minutes and found they needed no additional tightening after 75 miles.
