So doing some work on the Expy. Not putting plugs in until I get it tuned. Are you all running the NGK Iridiums and if so which ones? Much appreciated for the input and happy Friday.

They are an upgrade to oem Iridium plugs for like modified engines and such. Just was wondering what people were using here.

Check out this post (it covers some other stuff but skim through until you hit @LokiWolf posts and then start looking for spark plug talk).

These are the plugs I recommend. Stock, do 0.031, tuned or always run 93 and hard, do 0.028.

I can concur with Loki, these are the plugs I've used and I actually just ordered another set, just about time to replace them again.

I replaced my OEM with the Ruthenium's as LokiWolf stated. My '20 did some "trailer hitching" a couple of times at 45K, that's when I changed them. It has run great ever since.

Ha ha, so my truck is in for probably at least 2 weeks for some tranny stuff as well as a couple recalls and other warranty repairs. They sent me a notice asking me to approve a spark plug replacement, but their price was $667. Are you freakin kidding me, for $50 in parts, you want $600+ in labor for something that takes less than a damn hour. Unreal! I quickly said no as that's what I was getting ready to do anyways when I found the cracked valve cover.

On December 2019 when an independent workshop replaced the spark plugs for my RAM 1500 5.7 HEMI, they charged me $330, for 16 spark plugs replacement.

That's not bad to me. My Hemi's always cost me around $100-120 for the plugs (yeah, 16 is fun). so that would leave around $200 for labor, I can digest that. but 2-3x that, what the heck? When did a Ford tech's hourly rate equal that of a Ferrari mechanic.

Pretty reasonable for a 16 plug job, but that was THEN (pre-rona), and this is now (post-rona), and labor rates have skyrocketed ALOT during/since that time, from about $75/hr to $140/hr @small shops, and from $90/hr to nearly $200/hr at dealerships.....

suks but it is what it is :D

The ruthenium plugs made mine seem ever so slightly more peppy at just off idle. Gas mileage is the same. Wot seems about the same. My plugs with about 30k showed zero wear. None. Zilch. Already had the plugs and was started so did them anyway.

Rockauto was best deal by far that I found.

No discoloration? I am impressed. Catch Can? What grade and brand of fuel do you run?

I second those are still the best. Ive been beating the snot out of my 2020 F150 with some heavy E blend tuning and running the crap out of it and after 10,000 miles my Rutheniums still look brand new. They seem to hold a tight gap better than anything else too.

They looked like they came out of the box.

JLT since 10k miles.

I run Shell 93 for the friction modifier. Some tanks of Kroger 93 to use the dollar off. Try not to get two cheap tanks in a row. I run 89 sometimes in the dead of winter, occasionally top off with it before a highway trip and it’s less than a half tank.

Dude, you are the poster child. Catch Can, good fuel, good plugs, and there you go. Makes a difference.
