I currently have 2018 Limited. I'm looking at a new 2024 XL without a center console. Police and EMT radios go in that spot so it's wide open.

Does anyone know if you can swap out the F150 front beach seat?

Thanks
Jim

As near as I can tell, the center console delete is only available on the SSV package (102A). That package also includes a steering column mounted shifter for the transmission.

My 2002 Expedition was an SSV. Cloth bucket seats, vinyl 2nd row seats, no 3rd row seats. Rubber floor covering. Column shifter. No console. 5.4 2-valve. 3.73 LSD. I'm a ham radio operator, so I got a Jotto Desk Lazy L console and mounted it between the seats. Lots of room for radios.

I have a '24 SSV. It looks like the F150 bench should fit, you may need to find one from an XLT because the driver's seat is powered which is not the case on the 150XL (except for the PR model, but that's a whole separate discussion).

Thanks for your feedback and opinion. Does yours have the BLIS like the F150 XL?
I just found out they have skid plates also.

Affirmative. BLIS, Reverse sensing, the works.
Nice! I spoke with my Ford mechanic and he thinks it's possible to add the front bench seat. Now I need to find one. There is only one on cargurus in black. I see a few Max XLs but they have the center console. Where did you find yours? They are rare.

I have friends in low places. Seriously, though, it took two years before one turned up. Part of the problem was I wanted brand new or at least very close to brand new. Mine was ordered by a company who ordered two of them from two separate dealerships. The one at the second dealership (not the one where I got mine) came in first, so the ordering company in question picked that one up and refused the one that would become mine. Funny part is they tried to change their mind and take "mine" as well, but I had already placed a deposit by then.

Call these guys, maybe they'll sell you this one:

I'm adding to the old thread, but I have seen a 2020 SSV (102-A) with the small middle "jump seat" from the F-150 installed between the two buckets. The back folds down on the cushion and has cup holders and an open-up "console" in. Seems to line up pretty well with the seats. The one I saw was from a fire departments.

I did a bunch of research into this earlier this year looking to relocate the rotary shifter and transfer case selector. As far as bolting in, everything lines up down to the holes in the floor for the seat. I designed a pod that was 3d printed for the transfer case selector, but the rotary shifter is simply too big to relocate cleanly. I’ll use the pod I designed as an auxiliary switch pod. All this is to say. If you have the column shifter, go for it. It’ll work.

Update. The F150 jump seat I bought off ebay worked! The jump seat bolted up to the SSV center console holes Now I have center console storage (also under the seat) and rear cupholders/USB port.

Thanks, I'm very pleased. I wasn't 100% sure it was going to work out.
2024 Ford F150 cloth jump seat with the darker grey color with the black plastic instead of grey.

No, I have never seen the work surface one.

That's pretty cool!

Jim, I'm trying to get a handle on the color of that jump seat. I know it's dark gray, but I'm not sure how it would look with my black interior. It looks like the plastic's black on these. Does it all come together well with the different gray color?

Yes, the newer jump seats are a dark gray with black plastic. The older models had a light gray and gray plastic. I also purchased a black pleather console cover.

I also have pleather seat covers also for the F150.

Okay, now here's a thought: When these are installed in F-150's, I think they have wire connections for seat belt buckled indication, seat belt tensioner firing and seat weight occupancy.

So now we're putting them in an Expedition and sitting someone in that seat. I was considering trying to determine if the Restraint Control Module can be programmed to accept a center seat in the front row as it can on the F-150, F-250, etc. The module's right under the seat. I would wire the middle seat's sensors to the module and change the programming with Forscan.

So I look up the part number of the Expedition's module (LL1T-14B321-BB) and find that it's only used on the 22-24 Expedition and Navigator. So there's no way to make this into an F-150 so far as air bags are concerned.

Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

Or do you all just think I'm being silly? After all, my other truck is a 1967 Econoline pickup.
