Had a 2018 Expy and when we turned it in on trade we forgot to send the other key. Have a 2020 Expo now and realized this key isn't for it. Is there an easy way to get the key recut and reprogram this FOB to work with our 2020? Looked though some of these threads and couldn't really figure it out. Thanks

If I were here, you would know it !
"Easy" not really, but reprogramming would probably be possible, but the cutting part might be problematic, depending on how the contact points are arranged.

Either or both would most likely require a trip to a stealership, who will jack you up considerably, unless you know a locksmith that has the appropriate equipment (doubtful)

I know when I bought a new key for my '011, the key was only $67, but the programming & cutting (from an OEM blank) was $265 :(

I bought a 2013 a year ago and of course the dealer only provided one key, so don't you feel guilty about doing same on trade in! Call a local locksmith and you may find they can do it for much less, even right in your driveway. That is what I did and had the tech delete the other missing keys from memory. The question really is if the 2018 and 2020 fob are the same. You might check on line sellers to see if they sell same fob for both those years, or check Ford part number for each year, though the blank might differ.

Ohh and if you have two Fobs and keys provided by dealer, it is a DIY job to program the fob.

I have a scan tool and I can program my own keys, can't cut them. If you are close by I can program yours. Maybe you can buy lunch.

Do you have two keys for the 2020? If so, you should be able to program the third. As far as re-cutting the key from the 2018 I am not sure that is possible.

An automotive locksmith can cut you a new key blade for a few bucks. If you have 2 keys for your new car you can program the old one yourself. If you only have 1 key the locksmith can do it for a lot less than the dealer.

only have one programmed key. That’s the issue. Called a locksmith and they quoted me $250.

Sounds about right. Did you call the dealer to check their price too?
