I will use a high to low converter to for the signal of the amp. It looks like this

I have 3 questions:

1. Where is the nearest stereo speaker wires in the trunk area to tap into? That way I dont have to run the wires all the way to the dash

2. Where is the nearest remote turn on (antenna wire)? from the trunk area as well so i dont need to run it all the way to the dash

3. Is there a positive terminal junction in the trunk area? (you get the idea...so I dont have to run the positive wire into the engine compartment)

do you have a factory sub and amp back there? If so I can snap some pics of what I did. Took sub out and installed kenwood shallow ten inch sub. took out factory amp and put in Rockford fosgate punch 100 amp. ( very small) located in the jack compartment in back.

I agree with Freeway, your going to have to run power and ground and find some accessory to turn on the amp unless the amp has a turn on circut. In your 2000 its VERY easy to run wires down the channels under the door trim. Luckly you only nee a 100ish watt amp for that so it will be tiny, you can easily hide it behind the panel in the rear pass side.

Let me pry the factory sub location and see if there are wires I can use there. But I agree thinking about it it doesnt look hard since the door sills easily come out.

Hi everyone,

My project may be the same or a lot different. I have an 08 with factory radio unit/ DVD family entertainment system in the back, not sure what trim that makes it. I bought this last year with the sub blown... it wasn't a big deal for me, i unplugged the factory sub and the system still sounded decent enough. My father had a box sub with 2-12s in it that he gave to me with a mono amp. For starters i ran speakers wires from speakers both having their own (+ & - ) to the end of the harness that goes from the factory amp to the back of the blown factory sub. Plugged in the other side of the amp that gives the factory amp power and wala, it works, but it works enough i DEF heard this sub BANG LOUDER. Any advice? I don't have the aftermarket mono amp connected, because, I'm not sure whether it gets plugged in the rear somehow or in the front.. i know ill need a LOC adapter my factory radio does not have RCA inputs/outputs for the amp. Please help!

Edit: Right now, i have the aftermarket sub (2x) 12s .. going directly to the factory amp. I want to connect the aftermarket mono amp with a loc but i do not know where i should tap into? behind the radio or in the rear? i feel like tapping into the rear or how i currently have it set up, doesn't get the full range from what i think i know... tapping into the rear the audio is already crossfaded? but if i connected to the radio with loc THEN i would get full loudness lol... that's how my brain functions and that's why I'm here
