A few months ago we bought a Explorer ST. A real nice car, quick but small and engine is noisy as heck. Sooo I found and bought a 2024 Expedition Limited Stealth. Came with all options we wanted, Bigger engine, CCD 3:73 ELSD, HD Tow and so on. Time will tell how it does but right now I'm happy.

Did almost the same came from a 2020 Explorer ST. Loves the Explorer but too small for my needs. Expy SPP is really just an ST with more room.

I solved the problem. Wife has 2018 explorer Platinum ( 3.5 Ecoboost of course) and I have 2021 expedition limited w/ 3.73 and HD tow.

We did the opposite, went looking for a 24 Expedition and took home a 2025 ST. Wife is loving it! Miss the size of the Expedition but so far it hasn’t been an issue.

The 2020+ Explorer ST are a whole different beast in comparison to the Sport/Platinums from before 2020. RWD bias, vs FWD. Tuned on E50 with no other mods at 2020-2024 ST can do 11.7 1/4 easily, and sub 4 0-60 all day long.

You got the Limted SPP then with the High Output? Sweet. Mine is missing the CCD. So it is really stiff with the HD trailer tow package. What colour? The eLSD is awsome in the Expedition!

That is the one. We had the CCD in our 2021 KR as well as the eLSD. Actually it is equipped like the KR with the exception of the real nice seats in the KR but the bigger engine makes up for it. I've always had the spec'd the eLSD. Don't leave home without it.

The ST is a good car, nimble and quick. This was a failed attempt to sorta downsize. We have always had large cars or trucks. I didn't like the size or the cabin noise, but that's me. My wife liked it but is happier with the Expedition.

Imo the Expy is much better that the ST. Two different vehicles, two different classes.

The new 2025 Explorer is much better than the previous gen. We do have an ST-Line fully furnished with that 4 banger in the family and it is quite an improvement over the 19 Ranger and the previous gen Explorer. Much better ride and stability and the looks is better too.
For me the Explorer isn’t big enough with all the kids, wifey plus the dog. The Expedition MAX was too big for me, plus my dealer didn’t have one. I could choose between the Limited SPP or the Timberline.
The only thing I don’t like on the Explorer is in the rear the plastic floor that covers the trays underneath on the left and right. If I would put something heavy down… well that’s it for that plastic.

We did the same thing! Had a '19 Stealth but traded in '23 for an ST thinking we would downsize now that empty nesters. After a few months, we moved back into a '24 Stealth! Just missed the overall size and comfort! Don't get me wrong, the ST was FUN to drive!

Agreed! The ST is a quick and sorta fun. As I said I found the engine to be noisy and like you, missed the size and comfort of the Expy.

Yeah, we downsized, but I had a 2020 before, so it was a known commodity. We have the 150 for sheer size, but the Explorer has really good space for it's size. We did the captains chairs this time around as I had the bench before. That opens things up.

Sounds like mine. I traded a 2023 Durango R/T TnG (5.7 HEMI, SRT brakes and suspension) for a 2024 Expedition Limited Stealth. Happy with my decision.

What color? Mine's Dark Matter Metallic.

Full disclosure, we definitely miss the Expedition sometimes...but I need to see the new 25+ Interior in person before we commit. Not sure I am going to be a fan of the steering wheel, and lack of buttons. We will see.

Yeah the Explorer is shockingly tight on space. For not “Building any more cars” Ford sure made the Explorer as car wagon like as they possibly could without loosing the “SUV” label .

I did the same came from a 07 Sequoia to the Expedition. Its been a fantastic rig. 8 pass must. Hauling Scouts to a camp competition this weekend. Dragging our boat to the lake probably next month.

It gets 100% used! I wish its towing capacity was higher but my 2x yr haul it gets it done ok.

9300 isn't good enough for an independent Rear well riding SUV?

See, I think the Explorer has a good amount of space for it's size. Now, nowhere near the Expedition.

Wish I could have afforded to keep the Explorer, just didn't make much sense at the time :(

I traded my 2019 Explorer Sport for 2024 Explorer Platinum. Main reason for the "upgrade" was the Explorer had the manifold absolute pressure sensor fail twice. Forced limp mode on a busy road isn't fun. Other reason- the spacious interior.

Pretty sure I have all y'all beat. Looking for some sort of towing SUV and never having owned a Ford before, nor even SEEN an Expedition, and while waiting for them to bring in a Timberline (a brutally cold day late December) I was watching some guy looking at a tricked-out F150 and just "didn't like the bling".

Then they brought-in the T-line and it was love at first sight. Could NOT resist "the bling". We drove it around the block once and bought it on the spot. Hasn't been driven now since Christmas but I go-out into the garage often to admire it.

The several hundred mile trip we took (to Grandma's house for Xmas) was all we needed to be comfortable with this beauty.

Pic does not do justice to the orange/rust stitching:
