2013 Expo Limited R/L mirror turn signal bulb part #s ?

My 2013 Expedition Limited has the folding, heated side mirrors with the side marker turn signal lights in them.

Does anyone know what the actual bulb part# is/are? I don't want to replace the entire light housing, just the bulbs if possible.

They are a row of LEDs that are glued inside the mirror, not a bulb that can be changed. If both sides have failed I would suspect a wiring or electrical issue, the LEDs usually last a very long time.

Both sides work but the right side light is very dim compared to the left side. Is there a way to change the glued in led...and how to get to it?

You're in the wrong forum. This is the 4th Gen forum (2018-2024).

On a 2013 it's available as a separate part. See here - item number 5.

Edit: Now I'm not sure if this the lamp housing, or the bulb, or what. Is it LED in yours?

Interestingly, on the gen 4, they sell the LED component separately. I was very surprised to see you didn't need to replace the whole mirror assembly.

Interesting, I had no idea you could buy the unit with the LED lights and the orange transparent window. I still can’t see how you get that unit out of the mirror to put the new one in, but it’s still useful to know that it is available.

I suspect the process of disassembling the mirror to replace the LED component would be so messy and destructive that it wouldn't go back together again properly after!

I knew about the Signal Lamp - Passenger Side (RH) - Ford (7L1Z-13B374-A) assembly but was not sure if the bulb inside it was separately replaceable or if I need to replace that whole assembly. The chart Fizzy provided infers that you can replace the #906 bulb in the side mirror which is just a simple mini bulb, but that just confuses me.

So, I will just have to go down to my Ford dealer and find out which I need and how to install it. After I do, I'll post it on here.

I think the single #906 bulb is an error and refers to the bulb in the puddle light (the light that shines on the floor from the mirror when you open the door). I broke one of my mirrors and had to replace it, so I opened up the old mirror to see what was inside and try to save some parts for spare parts, this was on a 2011 folding/heated mirror, but there were only LED lights in the indicator section, no conventional bulb.

The wall that I clipped opened it up!! The avtual mirror has to be removed first, it is clipped to a ball mount on the back, so it takes some careful pulling to get it to unclip. Then there are 2 wires connected to the mirror (for the heating function). Once I had the mirror out I think I could access internal clips to let the main body separate into 2 parts, but this was several years ago, so I could be mistaken. Clipping the wall broke most of the mirror body so that made getting it apart much easier!! Not much help I am afraid..

I do not think you need to replace anything. The viewing angle of the led's makes the passenger side much dimmer when viewed from the driver seat. Turn on the hazard lights and look at them from outside the vehicle and I will bet that both sides look the same.

Wish that were true but standing behind the vehicle from behind with the emergency flashers on, the right side marker in that mirror is barely visible even at night.

Unfortunately for me, I also noticed that the leds in both rear blinkers were not all lighting up. Upon further investigation I noticed that each rear light used a 4x5 bank of leds for the blinkers and 2 halogen bulbs for the brake/running/reverse lights...none of which are individually replaceable. You can unplug the led bank for the blinkers and plug a #3157 mini bulb in the socket but it's only 1/2 as bright.

If you don't want to do that, you have to replace the entire rear light assembly. It seems that Ford upgraded all light fixtures to non- replaceable leds on the Expy Limited trim, at least on the 2013 model. I wonder If later models are similar?

The rear tail lights/turn signals never were LED in 2013. So someone put it aftermarket taillights or LEDs in yours. Do you have a pic?

Right rear tail light showing "some" turn signal Leds illuminated. The left side is worse. Are these original or aftetmarket on this 2013?

Look for the Ford logo, or FoMoCo embossed in the plastic. My guess is the whole housing is after market. LED replacement bulbs for incandescent bulbs are usually bulb/cylindrical. Those look like a flat LED board.
