What kind of deals is everyone getting on leftover 2024s?

I bought my new 2024 King Ranch for 20K off of MSRP. I know this is correct because I shopped a good bit for one and I knew my trade value and I know the difference I paid and I have the window sticker. But it was a program truck that they drove people to work in if they left their car...also probably used as a courtesy vehicle some.

I traded my 2017 Expedition XLT in on it. I shopped about 6 weeks before deciding on this one. I am a new member here also.

Sounds like you got a great Deal. Good job there! I looked here in CA at Galpin Ford, Van Nuys where they had two (2) 2024 King Ranch Expy's w/ HD Towing & Elec Brake Controller (mandatory for us) but they were both AWD, which we didn't need nor wanted to pay an additional $5000 for either plus, another added, possible mechanical failure potential. Even though our 2024 Expy MAX Limited has an ELSD rear end, our towing is ALL on pavement, so AWD was NOT needed. But, the King Ranch interior was "Just the most Beautiful!". I guess it is Real Tanned Leather and very nice looking w/ the KR logo. It seemed slightly harder (than the non-King Ranch Expy seats) when sitting on it for the first time, for us, but it was cloudy & cold that day plus the salesman said they soften up some, the more you use them. How many miles did your "program truck" have on it when you bought it? Now that you have had it for a while and driven it some, are you pleased with it, so far? What color did you buy? It had a little over 4K miles on it. That is fine with me though. They added them back into my warranty. Also the warranty starts the day I bought it.. i will probably drive it 6 or 7 years so the 4K miles will not make any difference at all......except I got a lot discounted off the purchase price. I bought my last Expedition the same way. It was ordered for the dealership owner's wife and she put about 4K miles on it, but I was titled as the first owner. If I had bought it with zero miles on it, it would not make any difference on ownership or my trade in value.

The King Ranch truck is Star White metallic tri-coat with Java interior. It also has the CCD shock system and road preview. It has the heavy duty tow package and also the polished 22 inch rims. It had group 400A options as well.

I have not had any trouble with it. It is my third Expedition. It is a learning curve to operate the infotainment screen....but I am getting there. I saw some great discounts on leftover 2024 Expeditions and Navigators. We are retired so I had a lot of time to shop around. Some Navigators were 30K off of MSRP.

Yes! That Star White Metallic is beautiful and I love the Java Interior too. My daughter got the Java premium Del Rio Leather and it's gorgeous! Very elegant looking and very unusual, as well. I totally agree w/ you about the 4K miles NOT making any difference if you're going to keep it and drive it for 6-8 years. Other than 4K miles of tire wear, I actually think that it having 4K miles is an asset in disguise because if there were any problems from the factory, the dealer would have already found those and corrected them before your taking possession of your new Expy.

I also wish our Expy had the CCD front suspension, like yours does. The one 2024 Expy Platinum Regular that we drove that had CCD, seemed to ride a lot smoother than our 2024 Expy MAX Limited does, without it. But, that Expy Platinum Regular was also shorter WB and did NOT have HD Trailer Towing either so, I thought that may have been a couple of reasons for our 2024 Expy's rougher ride.

The only reason that I mentioned the 4K tire wear is because on my new 2023 Transit 350 Cargo Van, at 6500 miles, the 2 front tires were showing pretty good signs of feathering the tread, at an angle. I took it to my local Ford dealer and the Ford service writer said that was "normal" when these Transits are loaded w/ tools and parts (like mine is) and he said that I was also likely going around corners too fast, which aggravates this tire wear! I had that feeling come over me like he needed a good smack in the jaw and a few non-complimentary words but I said nothing and left, instead.

I drove it right over to my friends, independent auto repair shop where he has a pretty new Laser Alignment Rack and it was toed "in" 1-1/2* on the RH front. Although I felt nothing strange in the steering nor tracking, I am guessing that both front tires were acting toed in because I was compensating with the steering to keep it going straight forward thus, that excessive 2 tire wear. He X rotated the 4 tires and soon the feathered rears were flat again. Only, they had a noticeable shallower tread depth now. So, I lost quite a few miles on those 2. Thanks Ford!! I find it best to simply vocalize objective fact (and show/demonstrate/point if experiencing ego trips).

I had to piss and moan to a Ford service department manager about the alignment on my 2019 when I bought it. Thing pulled hard left into oncoming traffic and was made worse after they "adjusted the alignment" to correct it. Said they test drove it and it was fixed by adjusting w/the spec sheet provided.

I was pissed on the drive home, turned around and took the service manager for a ride and let go of the wheel with him in the passenger seat on a level/flat 4 lane divided highway the dealership was on.

As we were in the oncoming traffic lanes with a light having changed/traffic approaching I asked him if he'd be happy having his new $70K+ vehicle handling that way with his family in it. Only this incited the correct action, he wanted to standby his tech/service writer's word, which was silly given the facts. BS/maybe reckless, but, it was 100% necessary/needed. When I went in a couple days later to drop it off (and didn't know he was going to send it somewhere else), I saw a sign that said alingments were not being done that day. Ford Pass let me know it was at the Service Department at another nearby town's Ford. I asked about it at pickup and he said they needed service (maybe training) on their alignment machine. I went to that one that actually fixed it ever since for all maintenance/warranty/extended warranty work, funny how they are always really busy and servicing all the area's police vehicles... For service, important to find a "good one" that takes care of their people. I learned later that the place closest to me had all kinds of dysfunction for many reasons/egos/acquisitions/hurt feelings cascading down to the customers. New spot/other Ford service dept. also did a great job mounting tow plates and doing the wiring/setup for it to be flat towed behind the RV, an atypical request they were happy to do upon reviewing what needed doing/looking at the parts to do it. Worked flawlessly for the whole time I used it. Just sold both RV and Expy as a package/why I'm looking at 2024s now to replace the 2019.

Not OTD, so, taxes/fees on top of that - too much to even consider pursuing IMO. These are just really unreasonable prices given how long these things have sat around!
I don't buy new cars very often. My 2019 was also really hard to find/I got it about 2 months after build date - had to go to Cincy from Eastern PA for it/nobody more local could match their pricing and that is when those were getting snapped up 2-3 months after being built, tops. Whereas a similar spec (not XLT, not Plati, not KR) I'm after now has well over 71 available in a 250 mile radius. Oldest build date in my list is 09 05 2023!

Limited MAX 4X4, STD or HO 3.5 (don't care). Also don't care about the big ass display/digital gauge cluster. I'd be fine with the "smaller" one & additional buttons for HVAC, etc. Especially if it meant a lower price. Color not overly important. (order of preference is OXFORD WHITE, STAR WHITE MET TRI-COAT, STONE BLUE METALLIC, ICONIC SILVER METALLIC, DARK MATTER PC, AGATE BLACK METALLIC, & no thanks on the JEWEL RED)

Something really has to give at some point. They are not moving them at all. There was the BS around "employee pricing" ending 02 June, got extended. There was the BS around "I can't sell this until we're told about how we fix the camera software bug" BS which is now not the case/guess that wasn't flying with the dealers either. These dealers have to be struggling not moving these "new" 2024s. I got called today and told "we are below invoice". Only to have one dealer share an A&Z plan price (which happens to be ~4K below "invoice"/they are still making $) that they can knock another 3K off (Still making $) and that is to have the vehicle brought from one dealer to another (which actually isn't "free" given the time/fuel for an exchange with another dealer).

Bench seat are highly sought after and will comparatively cost more or be discounted less. Don't feel bad man.

Last month, when I was looking for my '24 with a bench, CCD, and eLSD, there were only 6 in the country that had all that, vs over 5k cars that didn't.

Nope, fordperfaddict, I don't believe that you are a 'dope', by any means. That's what you "wanted", at that time, and that's what you were able to get to make life happier and easier. In 2002, I bought a new Ford Thunderbird for MPRP + $5000 for my wife, (she just loved the looks) when Ford re-introduced the Thunderbird again. I promised my wife I would buy her a new one and that is what I did. Never looked back nor felt bad that I had paid too much either. She was pleased as punch and loved driving it with the top down with her girlfriends and our daughters. Lots of fun and the joy and happiness was worth every penny!

The 'second row' bench seat is an asset, in my opinion. Good job there, on your part! I'm thinking at re-sale, down the road, you will benefit from having that 2nd row bench. Just enjoy your GREAT 2023 Expy and don't ever look back in doubt, is my thinking & advise!

My daughter bought a new 2024 Expy std. length, Limited and had to 'order' her car from Ford to get that 2nd row bench and all the other stuff she wanted, as well. It took 9 weeks to get built and another week to be delivered to the dealer. She has 3 kids and wouldn't do without the 2nd row bench. In February, my wife & I bought a new 2024 Expy MAX Limited but it is 2nd row '2 buckets' (which is easier to get into the 3rd row seats) but won't carry 8 people. We both just love our new 2024 Expy MAX Limited car and don't miss our, recently sold, 73K, 2012 Expy EL Limited, one day.

New favorite frustating conversation with dealers as I search for a 2024 MAX. Ford/Corporate "Stop Sale" due to the bug in the 360 camera and/or backup camera where the screen freezes. Someone clearly got hurt/killed because Ford isn't letting any 2024 rigs with it off the lots/waiting for a fix. They do steeply discount them, though, to drive engagement/interest. "oh that one, we can't sell that one, I'll be in touch when we have a fix"

How did we ever drive safely/what did we do before all these cameras on vehicles?

Appreciate it brother! I was in fact in touch with this dealer about this exact car before I bought locally. The price now is probably 1-2k less than I paid but I already put 3500 on the car so it's all good.

This is def a good deal! Just keep in mind the fees will be around $2k at that dealer on top of taxes.

Has anyone shopping got a word on end of the stop sale?

I'm trying to get one of the leftover '24s and they all have a stop sale due to the backup camera recall. I haven't got much of a response when I've asked how long this is expected to last.

Maybe some of you have experience with prior recalls like this and how long it took to roll out the software update. I guess Ford doesn't have much incentive to figure this out.

Most dealers operate on a plot plan type of financing so they pay a monthly payment for each car on the lot. Others pay for each car in full. I've yet to figure out which will drop the price the most. I would think the ones who pay in full.

Yes Fastcar, me too: I have never figured this out either?? I always thought that the "dealer flooring" monthly (financing) costs were a very good incentive to move these cars out because that flooring goes on until these cars are sold & out-the-door. However in CA (at least) if the dealer pays cash for their cars, not only is their capitol tied up but (depending on the time of year) they could have to pay an "Inventory Tax" for held/un-sold units. Don't know that tax rate but, it seems CA is NOT too friendly to businesses! This information would be great to know but it may be hard to find the truth? NO personal experience but just my 2 cents worth here. Lance

According to the letter mailed to owners, "The remedy is anticipated to be available third quarter of 2025."

According to the recall report on file with NHTSA, as of July 18, 2025, Ford's Field Review Committee approved an amendment to the recall "to include additional vehicles with defective software."

Based on Ford's review, SYNC4 versions earlier than 1.7 or later than 1.9 don't have the problem.

My gut feeling is that Ford is still working on a solution.

10K off on my 2024. I bought mine right when employee pricing was coming out. The dealer stated that the employee price would be more than what I paid.
If you do a nationwide search on cargurus, you can see how much dealers are discounting the 24s.

Make sure you call and check the price first. I used this method, drove 1 hour to the dealership, they loaned out the vehicle and the price was not correct. But also, the same wrong price was on a local ad listing website, too! I called them out on it and they doubled down on me saying it’s the wrong price. $57k 202A? XLT with HD towing. It turned out $65 OTD later. We bought elsewhere. It was nice, though.

Thank you. It's a 2023 XL with the SSV (102-A) Package.

That omits the console and third row seat, gives you a column shifter, vinyl flooring, cloth front seat and vinyl rear seat, 12" monitor, Sync4 without Sirius. Skid plates and steel wheels with white outline letter tires all-terrain tires. Electric locking rear 3.7 axle and two speed transfer case.

The thing is a rocket. A nice looking truck with the steelies.

Only options were running boards and start/stop deleted.
