We bought a 2016 with 12k on it, only issues was a leaking turbo coolant gasket and the carbon in the throttle body, 125k miles. Towed a 4000 lb boat up and down mountains and all through the desert. Treat them right and do maintenance religiously. Hoping this 2025 goes just as well, but have the ESP just in case for electronic gizmos.

so that's why my new '26 Tremor is being built the week of 11/17!
I hope so, but let’s me say this, they have a lot of backed up orders to do. Our April order that was to be built in Aug, just went into production on 10-9 and now has been on hold 19 days. Hard to believe a 26 will be built 20days from now.

Just bought my first Expedition. 2025 Active Max w/touring pkg. I got the Starlight-white tri coat. I kind of like the black on the split gate. Only 1600 miles in but love it so far.
Same here, but mine is a Platinum Max SPP in Wild Green. I think the split tailgate, black top and squircle are total non-issues. I keep hearing negative comments, but they seem to mostly come from non-'25 owners. It seems to feed on itself. I don't think twice about the steering wheel. I love the split gate.; highly functional. The black on the back does not bother me at all - I generally look out the front windshield while driving.
There is no perfect vehicle that will make 100% of the people happy; but this new truck is awesome. I just bought a new 7x16 TA cargo trailer and will be getting it set up this weekend. Love the versatility of this truck with my family of six + dog and our lifestyles. 100% do over for us.

Totally agree with the last comments - I laugh every time someone complains about the black tailgate considering that last I heard, no one ever looks at the back of their vehicle when driving. I find the wheel actually more comfortable for my driving position.

I would have loved the Platinum but could afford the extra 13k-14k

Of course anyone that bought a 25 with the black tailgate is going to say they like it.

I've owned 14 Expeditions; hate the black on the tailgate, looks like you just got it out of a body shop and they forgot to finish painting it, what was Dearborn thinking! The soft ware updates on my '23 Limited have been so bad fix 1 thing and mess up another function.

I saw a post dropped the 4H and 4L on the '26's, hope that's not true?

I have a 26 on order. It has the black liftgate. I don’t like it.

But THAT’S not enough of a reason not to buy an otherwise great vehicle.

I’m certainly not going to buy a different vehicle that is inferior just because the Expi has a black liftgate. I’ve never owned a vehicle that I liked absolutely everything about; there’s always something I wish was different (on my 18 it’s also the liftgate…I think it far too wide-looking and makes the vehicle look fat (and somewhat like a lifted minivan) from behind).

But I don’t design cars, so I’m left to buy those designed by others. That’s why we’re not all driving these:

At some point - after enough quality control feedback - I'll test drive one and if the lack of physical buttons is not too much of a distraction for me (this is major for me), then I'll consider purchasing.

So far quality control is pretty good. The 4th gen thread was bombarded with issues threads as soon as they were released lol. Theres barely any in the 5th gen section. Even the nav forum has gotten pretty cold since noone new has had issues. Only about 4 ish members have had bad experiences, one absolutely hates his nav lol. If I could, I'd buy it from him.

I don't see many people there saying how great their nav is either.

100%. Lincolns satisfaction and I still quality survey results show improvement since the navigator and nautilus came out. But a lot more ppl are vocal about how great their expys have been than the navs even in the nav forum.

Well, if they offer the option of upgrading the seating material from cloth to leather or the Active X stuff for a reasonable cost I'm open to ordering one. I could do that in 2018, but can't on a '25. If one wants anything but cloth you get the 202A package, which costs an additional $4350. That also sticks you with a stupid glass roof, which decreases your roof rack weight capacity to just 125#, as opposed to 200# for the solid roof. Inconceivable!

Build week for my '26! And it looks to be on schedule. Ford confirmed that I am still set to go into production this week and my window sticker dropped this morning. Mine will be the 711'th 2026 to roll off the line.

I'm pumped.

Wow, that’s awesome. It will be interesting to see if it actual does happen as scheduled. How did you find out that there has been 710 (2026’s) built so far?

My VIN....it ends in A00711.
My understanding is that the KY plant assigns them sequentially. (I am sure someone will correct me if I was given bad info.)
Will it ACTUALLY be the 711th (versus 695th or 720th)? Maybe not. But it'll be really close.

This is actually the first week of scheduled 2026 production.

I have a 2018 which has been pretty problem free. Original brakes, etc. I had a problem with the driver's rear parking brake actuator. Asked the dealer about it and they said they would replace the entire unit. I found a broken, corroded wire and fixed it for free. My windshiel washer pump has a leak, need to get around to fixing that.

Just wondering about the cloth seats in the Active trim, as adding the Active X or leatherette seating material mandates an "upgrade" of $4350 which includes a glass roof, which I won't have. Are the cloth seats durable enough? What about cleaning them? $2600 Destination Fee?

I did get bumped back a week, but we're rolling now.
They tell me the estimated ship date is 12/22.
